Great to see YF and AW82 being the source the federations look to for their programmes. :-)

That Coastal vs Nomads game, will be remembered for a long time, for one of the most biased displays of referring ever witnessed at this level of competition. Absolute disgrace, that referee should be sanctioned and dropped to the lower division. The biased nature, was made all the clearer when he kept blowing his whistle and his hand would always go against Coastal  Spirit, even when it was a Coastal call. LOL He had to keep correcting himself, he showed his true nature with that hand though. Disastrous and blatantly poor and incorrect, biased decisions, the penalty call at the end tops it off. Luckily these matches are recorded. MAINLAND, actually watch them and take action. Like players can't, referee's can't get away with cheating. Everyone should be and has to be held accountable. Top job from the Coastal manager not losing his rag, when he deserved too.

While the I thought the refereeing was poor on Sat, I don’t think it was as bad as Factchecker claims. But as a side note does anyone else think the refs tend to have poor games when they are being assessed??

Not surprised seeing as both teams have beaten Nelson Suburbs this year. No doubt many decent players in those squads who won't be signed by Canterbury United.

Agree but 1) bit tricky playing for Tasman when you live in Chch 2) Tasman board/Hedge would want to only bring in a limited number from outside the region 3) Isnt there an Ifill/‘Rapa pipeline already?

1 not really, although it is better to be with a team you can train with, its not unheard of for players to live one place and play for another team

2 Thats probably true, but they are also realistic and for Tasman to be competitive they need to bring in players from outside the region

3 Ifill not going back to Tasman this season, does have his academy there though, but it seemed to be Rapa that benefitted more from that connection

Well, they could move to Nelson?

Expect to see that Rapa connection link up with Hawke's Bay.

Be a bit of a rebuild for Tasman but it's probably not a major as Kaltack and Chettleburgh left midseason anyway, and the only likely losses will be Ifill, their back-up GK and Lindsay.

I'd expect Elliot (if he doesn't sign with the Nix) and Allan to return. Same with some of the younger Nelson kids like Scott Morris and Tullamore MacFadyen.

WTF?

So Queenstown were the 2nd top qualifying team from the Southern premier League. This sort of result doesn't bode well for the future. of the competition. Or is there a logical explanation?

Coastal look to be out for blood!! I've watched all Soith island games and by golly did they get ripped of by that Cameron ref guy. Formal complaint was submitted apperently. Ive not seen the video but although they played below average n maybe didnt deserve to win I'm told its blatant incompetence from the ref. I've just had a night out with them and wow what a night. Tremendoues group of humans. On behalf of the 25 supporters that traveled I want to say thanks to Ekow and crew for some insanely quality entertainment. Although we are not where I want to see you at in the table we certainly haven't been short of entertainment and for me and at this level that's what it's all about for me. I think the team has consistently improved year by year the last 3 or so years.

P.S Haris can get some dragons exposure this summer?

Being Coastal is life for me now. On and off the pitch. Another converted :) Vim you are stupidly hilarious its ridiculous. Thank you Ekow for hiring out the rooftop bar for us and thanks to the referee for acknowledging and having banter with us. I'm sorry for invading the pitch with the flag after final whistle. Qtown coach was scary after that so I left.

Be interesting to see if Coastal players recover for Tuesdays game..... haha

Well, everyone down south was quite surprised to see both Queenstown and Southland qualify at the expense of Dunedin sides. But even though it was only a one round competition they earned their spots fair & square... Both teams stacked with some quality foreign players. But both teams seem to have a different lineup from week to week given the nature of the squads.

Just a shame I think that Caversham are going through such a big rebuilding phase at the moment, and that Roslyn missed out given they've got their strongest lineup in years

There is a bit of chatter floating around that it might run as a cup competition next year with all the premier teams involved and potentially two divisions. A similar amount of games (possibly even more) but spread across the season.

Just in the door from a mad weekend in Queenstown, never seen anything like it. Can't wait to read the write-up in the ODT or the Football South programme. Great to have so many supporters travel down, was wicked, we actually had more than Queenstown did.

Hopefully we can do it all again next year.

Yer great to see an improvement across the board. Queenstown did a good job of updating their FB page too, apart from their dig at fans cat-calling. Not sure what that was about, certainly wasn't our lot....
