Kevin Muscat will lead Melbourne Victory against Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Wednesday night in the club's final Asian Champions League game of 2019.

But in all likelihood it will be the club legend's last game in charge of the club with whom he has been so closely associated for the past 15 years.

Take with a pinch of salt ofc but there are rumours floating around Twitter that they are looking at Chris Coleman as a replacement.

Personally thought he was holding MV back; tactically quite inflexible - thought he got it wrong v Nix and got lucky because of individual mistakes + superior quality from the likes of Toivonen; seemed to run out of luck v Sydney.

Still really think we should have won that game.

Saw a BBC Peter Crouch ‘podcast’. They asked him if he feared one player, he said Kevin Muscat, and then one interviewer agreed and told that he googled YouTube video to show his kid the most horrible player on earth.

I’m hope I never have to watch his face on the sideline again.

Making your mark as a NIMBY

More than a dozen police, who had arrived in at least six public order response vehicles, barricaded the doorways and refused entry to anyone trying to enter the building.

They eventually ordered the protesters out of the foyer and back into the rain, chanting ‘Save Our Park’ as they exited.

Because some A-League teams struggle to understand the concept of a change kit. CCM is another that doesn't get the concept.

Victory's $18m training park plan kicked into touch by community panel

Michael Fowler

November 25, 2019 — 11.43am

A contentious proposal by the country's biggest soccer club to convert a section of Footscray Park into an $18 million training facility appears doomed after a specially-appointed advisory panel unanimously voted against it.

Following months of bitter argument over the public value of Melbourne Victory’s proposal, the panel chosen by Maribyrnong Council concluded on Friday that the facility was a “private business operation” that would unduly benefit the club more than it would the community.

Yes

Did SFP ignore this and tell community members the grounds will be permanently fenced and closed off to the public?
Yes

Yes

Did SFP ignore this and campaign on a “private corporation land grab”?

Statement from Melbourne Victory

Melbourne Victory has today been formally advised by Maribyrnong City Council that the 2019 Footscray Park Masterplan, which included plans for our not-for-profit Women’s and Youth Academy precinct, has been rejected.

The purported decision by Council is both disappointing and surprising, given:

  • we have been working with the Council (in partnership) for over 4 years on the project; and
  • that the Council has contractually committed to both the Melbourne Victory Academy entity and the State Government to deliver the earmarked Footscray Park site for the project.

Melbourne Victory is considering all of its options in light of Council's decision.

We do wish to take this opportunity however to thank the Victorian State Government for its continued support of our youth, women's and community programs, and assure the Melbourne Victory family that those existing programs will continue uninterrupted.
