ALF to the ISL confirmed. Being a loan, maybe he can come back to finish the A-league season?

[Edit: Ah, I see they are looking for a replacement. Guess he won't be back then]

If it's the final year of his contract, why bother loaning him? Why not just cancel the contract? Does loaning him imply they are footing some of the wage bill?

In one of the articles about the transfer, it had this

"The club are understood to have agreed a loan deal over a permanent transfer to allow them to keep their options open on Le Fondre in the future."

Maybe they are hoping to re-sign him after the loan. Guess they are holding out hope for the cap to be scrapped for the 2022 season.

Maybe they have an option to extend or a match other offers clause or something?

If they sold him, he probably signs a 2-3 year deal. This way they know they can talk to him again in a year, with full knowledge about what the cap situation is going forward.

No names leaked yet but someone suggested Jesse Daley as a possible option. He would make sense

Yipe he has been playing for USL side Tacoma Defiance (not involved in the playoffs), who are based south of Seattle in Washington State. Formerly known as Seattle Sounders II.

Hopefully he has a better time with US Customs than I did at LAX last Friday.

Perhaps Nix could post a mystery Akld-Wgtn Intercity bus ticket (economy), when they sign Myer Bevan or similar.

He's at the Jets but Bernie Ibini you would have thought would be a candidate to go wherever Robinson goes. Played under him at Vancouver and Newcastle. Plus don't WSW need to replace Mitch Duke?

Gatty said it isn't a Jets player. One of the replies suggests Max Burgess, that comes from a guy who is pretty clued up on things. Burgess is an Avid client, I just dunno why Western would let him go.

Meanwhile, the Wanderers have turned down an approach from Western United star Max Burgess' representatives, fearing a perceived conflict of interest with Robinson's management.

Burgess still has a season left on his contract with Western United but despite this, A-League sources have indicated he has been shopped around to NSW clubs.

The 25-year-old is managed by the Avid Sports & Entertainment Group – the same agency as Robinson, his Jets assistant Kenny Miller and several players who signed for the club during his tenure, including Joe Ledley, Bernie Ibini and James Donachie.

Western United chief executive Chris Pehlivanis confirmed Burgess is a "contracted and required player" for the club and that it would not sanction a move to an A-League rival – while sources close to the situation have indicated Western Sydney were unwilling to entertain it for appearance reasons.

Guess that given his thuggish behaviour on the pitch, it wasn't that hard to get a criminal record.

Good read that article.

Certainly seems for the moment, some clubs are worse off than the Nix (Newcastle, CCM, even maybe Adelaide & Perth) heading towards Dec 27th.

Some praise also for the NIx Academy, and sounds like Talay needs to again make some signings from SFC's successful youth team.
