A win for The Trains tonight, and it REALLY will be bye to Sky Valley. Unfortunately Soren is out injured so Charlie Tree will be the lone threat in the front third...

Quite an atmosphere here at The Bush. The Nix fans are in in numbers, and there's been a good exchange of chants between them and singing on the train for the last half an hour.

Always a tight affair, still 0-0 as we fight to have that promotion guaranteed.

No clear chances. I've changed my free-kick taker three times in the the past few weeks, still no luck so far.

Got the much needed result last night in a high scoring one against Highlands. Ended up 5-3 and lifts me from bottom to mid table.

Promotion won't be a goer but should avoid wooden spooning from here I hope.

I missed the Highlands FC vs Waikato Whippingboys game from last week. So have added it, which is unfortunate for Highlands as they had a red card in that game!

Something wrong with the fairplay table... it says Rangitoto Old Boys have only played 5 games, but the Div 2 table says they've played 6.

My bad, same with Naenae. Must have missed that game. Puts you into the lead too!

So just the Div 3 champion (realistically) left to be decided, a good race there too.

A couple of interesting possible promotion/relegation permutations in division 2. But yeah not much else realistically. Which is surprising in 4 5 team leagues, normally we'd have more excitement toward the end of the season.

A couple of shock results in the premiership the last couple of weeks which makes it intriguing for next season, with paraparaumu beating TTU last week and TTU beating me (tegal) this week. Especially with me and TTU being in some financial difficulty at the moment, could give other sides (particularly paraparaumu disjointed) a chance to close the gap even more.

Elite F.C. Could also theoretically catch AD fafe for the last promotion spot in division 4, which would be pretty epic to pull off. Tawa FC also has a theoretical (though smaller) chance of doing the same in division 3.

need sky valley to smash naenae on tuesday - and of course a win against RCNS. That will at least put me third for this week. Who knows what will happen in the final round.

Would require some massive luck on my part to pull that off - epic might even be an understatement.

I think I'll just be happy to remain mid-table at this point given I was looking a chance for the wooden spoon not too long ago!

Elite get the win to truly finish off fears of the spoon, as Highlands will take it after losing to LHL. Elite still also have a slight shot at promotion to keep things exciting into the final game.

Yep that 1-1 draw between myself and sky valley meant that you won the division 2 title without having kicked a ball this week! Congrats.

Bit of a shame though, as if I'd beaten sky valley it could have set up an interesting game between us next week.

Indeed, that was almost the worst possible result for me. Now I need to get at least a draw in the next round. If I draw then Elite would need to win by 9 goals. Comes down to the final week...

Also just realised that the table above doesn't look right at all. Here is Div 4 as at end of this round, above it shows my GF/GA as 13-10, The table I see presents it as: 14-7 (Think some results have been recorded wrong :D) giving me a +7 GD, and Elite a current of -2.

...probably should have figured this out before, but how many promotion/relegation spots are there in this friendly league?
