Tratt in the starting XI for Perth as they set up in a 5-3-2, switching to 3-5-2 going forward against Manchester United.

Huge learning curve for the kid and he'll be in for a big shift. United with over 70% possession and into double digits on shots (3 on target) after just half an hour.

0-0 for the moment however.

How did it end up? Did Tratty do ok?

Finished 2-0 United.

29 shots for United (only 8 on target though) to Perth - who didn't manage a shot (on or off target) the whole game and only had 30% possession so definitely a night of attrition from them. Pitch seemed gluggy and pretty average to be honest after an AFL game a day earlier too.

Thought Tratty was pretty solid given the stage and the quality of the opposition, he didn't look out of place and made a few good interventions, but nothing spectacular. Unfortunately he gave away the ball for United's 2nd goal with a sloppy pass which James Garner picked up on and hammered home.

Would have been a fantastic experience for him no less.

He snagged Pogba's shirt at full time.

Sarpreet Singh has scored for Bayern Munich 2 in a pre season friendly!

"Some familiar names helped lead the way for Bayern II as Oliver Batista Meier (32’), Kwasi Okyere Wriedt (63’), Sarpeet Singh (78’) and Joshua Zirkzee (79’) all scored to pace the offensive attack as reported by FCBayern.com. "

According to the website he beat 2 players and scored from 20 meters out to make it 3:0 with 12mins to go.

I chucked the press release on the tweet into Google translator

The president Luca Gallo and Reggina communicate that they have acquired the sports performances of Marco Rossi. The central defender moves to Reggio Calabria on the basis of a two-year contract.

Marco Rossi was born in Parma on September 30th 1987. After having done all the youth work in the Crusader club, he made his Serie A debut on October 22nd 2005 on the occasion of Fiorentina-Parma. Confirmed in the Gialloblù squad also for the following year, he made his Uefa Cup debut in the ducal victory over Rubin Kazan.

In January 2007, his card was transferred temporarily to Modena. In Emilia-Romagna, Marco Rossi will find consistency in performance, enough to gain the trust of Parma, the owner of his card, for the next two seasons. Aware of the important technical and physical qualities, the crusader society, relegated to Serie B, has no intention of permanently depriving itself of its central defender. He will then be loaned to Sampdoria first and then to Bari. In 2011 Cesena bet on him taking over the card from Parma.

Rossi is looking for new ideas and an ambitious project. Perugia is the square from which it starts again. In this way he will win a promotion from C to B and will be confirmed for two years (with the six-month parenthesis at Varese). Untied, in the summer of 2016 he decides to accept the proposal of the Wellington Phoenix (Australian Serie A), competing in a decidedly different league, on a faraway continent for traditions and culture from Italy.

Two years later he returned to Italy, signing with Robur Siena. Thirty presences and a network in the last season gone to the archives. From today, Marco Rossi is officially a new amaranth footballer.

How does this level of comp in Germany compare to the English system?

Taking a wild arse guess, and based on this comparison, i'd say League 2?

http://www.globalfootballrankings.com/compare?firs...

(It only goes as low as Bundesliga 2 but their bottom team is higher ranked than all League 2 teams.)

He has an English passport from memory so that will come in handy. Always admired Doyle's determination and how fit he was. I'm not beating my chest that he left as he was just too mistake prone for my liking but I hope he succeeds in Europe

Whoops, I had this right the first time & changed it after a quick look at their wikipedia. Seems that wasn't updated when they achieved promotion.

Yes, interesting comment. Nice to hear that he loved the place, too and that he's doing well in Israel. Their season doesn't start for a wee while but I'll be keeping my eyes and ears peeled.

He said that the ref (who was it?) was a joke, laughing with the Victory players and carding the nix players.

Where was that?

I mean we were fairly average for most of the final iirc and we'd blown our chance at a home final.
