Wtf does any of that have to do with politics?

You're right it's a totally apolitical football kit my bad I got it wrong.

Imagine getting upset by paying homage to a historic moment that happened 140 years ago, the events of which couldn't remotely be justified. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you know nothing about Parihaka or why it's an incredibly significant part of this country's history.

Think the larger tribe that calls Wellington home represents the region from Taranaki to the South coast of Wellington, so it's a fair representation.

The Designer Charmaine Love is trying to promote her political agenda through stealth and doesn't care about the football. The meaning of the white feathers we're originally about the Taranaki Tribe as mentioned in the 22/23 kit release

But now it's about Parihaka which is something else entirely not about the Taranaki tribes

And if the Phoenix are putting NZ history on the top from 100s years ago where is symbol about the Boyd Massacre

What's her political agenda then? Say the words, we all know what you mean.

Its not about representing the tribe (which has strong associations with the Wellington region anyway), its about the message the symbol conveys. Why do you have a problem with a message of "strength, hope and compassion"? Or maybe your issue is with something else that you're not willing to type out so you can keep plausible deniability.

Recognition of one event is not denigrating or ignoring another event, but you've almost completed my dogwhistling bingo card so don't stop on my account.

Everyone just ignore him. He's either brain numbingly thick, deeply racist or an obvious troll. A lot of overlap with those attributes though to be fair. Can smell the nauseating Hobson's pledge stink on him from a mile off.

Well I for one love the kit. Best I've seen in a while.

I bought last years one and was rather unimpressed by the look of it, swore I would not buy another one for a while. I'm slowly coming round to the idea though with the look of this new kit

Yeah guys, there's a reason why one of Wellington's major thoroughfares is Taranaki St

Not sure who this bloke is so I’ll cover up his face in case he doesn’t want to be shared. But saw this pic on Twitter and the away kit looks quality:

Just saw both the kits in person at the RYOS store on Lambton Quay... I take back what I said about the new home kit just being a worse version of last year's. It looks great in person. Really hard for me to choose between the home and the away.

My only issue with the Home top is, if the Black could have been a bit bolder to really jump out over the yellow. To me it looks a bit 'feint" like last years kit.

As for the designs, they are both very nice. Not sure how one would handle the black in the heat though. a Teal version with the pattern would have been my preference. But again, the actual design is quite good...and original!

Disappointing to find out Paladin have sold out of some of the casual gear so early in the season with no plans to restock.
Would imagine they are going to miss out a lot of sales especially with Xmas coming up.

Only the teal/grey training kit & 1/4 pullover in the Nix Shop. Guess that is why they are doing them cheap. They are nice but not as nice as the Harlequin ones.

Thought this is better posted in here than in the WU game thread: perhaps an off the wall POV here….. Dome has explained the mixed use of black and gold kit because of sponsorship commitments black for Oppo and Spark for yellow. I made the comment that the club should simply have 4 kits with sponsors on each colour. Critics rejected that because of cost (which I think is a pisspoor excuse). So how much in terms of dollars, reputation etc did the kit mix up cost this week? Perhaps WU has a fair degree of fault because they didn’t bring a second kit on the plane (extra baggage cost lol) but I’m certain when packing their bags they didn’t say “fudge it, lets throw a spanner in the works and only bring the kit that clashes with the Phoenix”. They obviously have no idea what kit our team wears and when…. Reasonably to assume that the Nix are yellow, teams wear their main strip and home and the green and black won’t clash.

The blame lies (perhaps mostly) with our club for this debacle.

The mix up this week was a little comical, I can see how WU would assume that we'd be wearing yellow cos it's our home colours, but they clearly didnt think to ask and our kit man only brought the black cos thats what we were gonna be using - for the commercial reasons discussed above. It's easily solved, bring both kits to home games. The club have openly said they are doing everything they can to reduce costs, and increase revenue. Having two kit sponsors has had some financial benefit, why waste that by producing four kits to manage? It may be small by comparison to buying a player or running the club but as we are operating on small margins I guess.

Don’t know what it is at this level but I would of thought you build the cost into the sponsorship. No use having a $1000 sponsor when it costs you $2000 to print the sponsors name. I seriously doubt that the Nix actually pay for their uniforms anyway.

I don’t think teams assume the kit color of team they play against. I always thought they tell the match officials a few weeks ahead of the game the colors the want to play in and then they decide the proposed away team colors are not clashing. It’s also strange that we did not had the homekit at hand, it should just be another bag named homekit. But what do I know? It’s definitely a fun story.
Someone asked me if this 49 is the new player, I said no it’s Kraev and explained the kit mix up.

Fully understand the reason why they do the whole kit thing. But still is friggen annoying that one of the things about supporting your team is that you know what your home kit is and you wear that to home games.
But no we have taken that away from the fans and sometimes the club just dosnt seem to understand fans.
