What is amazing is, outside Waine the entire starting 11 for us in the last game will be playing in Europe somewhere next year or have full deals at the NIX.  That's pretty cool IMO.

Denmark & Sweden are in Europe.

Just is locked in, but don't think Pijnaker has signed with Torslanda. Lets hope he signs at a higher level.

But you are right the future is bright for this group. Pity we will barely see many of them in NZ again.

Especially those with dual nationality - their options may be better.

Happy with Waine signing, really has a bright future in the game but is it actually a 'signing'? Article states it's for him occupying one of  nine scholarship positions for 19/20 season and then bumped up to 1st team contract thereafter - if we're still alive and kicking that is.

I'd imagine he'll be doing a bit of bouncing around between WeeNix and the Phoenix as he didn't look out of place when given a chance at the backend of last season. Probably see him get a bit of a run if we can manage to get going in the FFA Cup, will be a good chance to see what he can do when in and around the first team.

Good on Stensness too, brave move for sure but if you never give it a crack, you'll never know what could have been. Good luck to him.

Most I can get is this where appears that he has been offered a contract and is deciding.

Joe Bell has appeared all week. Now Viking has decided.

After having impressed with the training during the week, Viking wants to join Joe Bell (20) from New Zealand on a permanent basis. After Aftenbladet knows, the midfielder has already been presented with a contract offer by Viking.

The 20-year-old plays for daily college football and attends school in the United States, but has a goal of getting a professional contract. When he completed his first training with the team on Monday, he stated:

- It has been very nice to meet the coaches and players for the first time. People have been incredibly nice. I didn't know much about the club before, but after Morten Jensen contacted me, I read and seen many games. It seems that there is a lot of good going on after the promotion, and that it looks very promising for the future, he said.

- Good overview

Joe Bell's mother club Wellington Phoenix has also offered him a contract after the midfielder impressed during the U20 World Cup. Bell has no agent or contract with any club, so he becomes no animal player for Viking if the parties come to an agreement.

- It is cool with all the interest, but now it's about finding out what is serious, assessing the opportunities and together with the family make the best choice for my future. Phoenix is a good club, so it would have been a great opportunity, but it would also have been fantastic to get the chance in Viking, he said.

Due to the tight match program this week, Viking has not had many normal trainings where all A-team players have participated. The club management should nevertheless have seen enough to sign the deal with the player born in Bristol in England and have an English passport.

- We already see some qualities that we think are exciting considering what we are looking for. He is a player who wants the ball, is ball-proof, beats and goes, and finds the solutions with his good overview, said Viking coach Bjarne Berntsen after Bell's first training.

Chhangte will return

Bell will stay in Stavanger anyway the week. Sunday he will see the Viking home match against Bodø / Glimt from the stands.

Being still relatively new to the country, the more I read about the Ole guy, the more he sounds like a kut. What's his issue with the nix?  I'm struggling to see their players going on to bigger and better things than what the nix could offer. Are they not playing for small unknown european lower league teams? Then you get Bell, who's attracted viking, a proper team.

Appreciated it's probably been done to death and if there is a summary link to another thread, i'd happily read it.  Just interested in the subject and keen to understand the subject a bit more.

It's fair to say he's an acquired taste. Play's to his own tune and to hell with what other people think or say, which is fine, but it'd be fair to say that taking criticism - constructive or otherwise, isn't one of his strong suits. Football wise I think he's got a great approach to the game from a technical/skill standpoint, especially in NZ - Demanding, direct and astute in what he does, which is probably what rubs people up the wrong way. I'd have to read a bit more into his issue's with the Phoenix before I can comment, I've seen bit's and pieces but will have to dive a bit deeper into the depths of this forum.

Biggest negative for mine is his Development > Results. Of course development for the younger players is crucial for a career in the game, but football is also a results game. This approach might work to a point in NZ where we have a amateur/semi-professional national league with no relegation and then several regional leagues covering the country. This isn't the case in Europe where they're working with Torslanda IK, who are currently last in their group of the Swedish 4th tier. It looks like they're (Ole/Declan) in it for the long haul over there though, so while it is an interesting association that's been formed, I'd very much like to see how it all plays out and whether any of the Kiwi's that are currently slugging it out over there end up progressing to full time professional contracts with other clubs, or whether they'll end up coming back to the Handy next season...

See the post and links above from Liberty_NZ - they're a bit of a read but will definitely give a good insight into how he works.

So apparently Ufuk Talay was at the LH vs Miramar game tonight. Wonder if he saw anything that interests him. In my opinion Taylor Schrivers was the best player on the field and like looked great in a holding mid role. Stevens and JHS also looking very dangerous.

Pretty sure Schrivers played in the backs for Team Wellington and was very solid there. Now holding mid. Handy player. JHS looked good. Stevens looked like he was a ball hog. Held onto the ball to long an then lost it.

Surely it would be a smart move for him to play for the Nix. With Krishna, Burns and Williams gone there is good chance he could be a starter and get the opportunity to make a name for him self at this level.

He's still young and if it doesn't work out for him then he can still go and play 4th tier Swedish football with Declan.

Although if the Nix were onto it they would sign him to a multi-year contract.

Really hope this happens.

I rate Schrijvers.

Does Taylor belong to Paul, Mike or another Schrijvers? Both Paul and Mike were excellent players. Mike unlucky not to play for New Zealand; we just had so many good defenders at the time

don't think we've had any speculation since the Michal Kucharczyk rumours (striker/winger for Legia Warsaw, same club as Kopa). Anyone heard anything more about Kucharczyk or any other imports?

At Bayern Singh is initially scheduled for the reserve. In the medium to long term, however, it should become a topic for the professionals.

Wow!

Gutted for us if he goes, but this is too big an opportunity to turn down. Surely we'd get a transfer fee out of this?

Wasn't Libby's name also getting mentioned for a move after his performances at the U20 WC?

Awesome stuff and good luck to him, whatever ends up transpiring.

I'd imagine the fee would be fairly nominal, do we have development fees here?

He has a year left on his contract - so Bayern will have to pay or agree to something.

My guess, $1million, plus a portion of his next transfer fee or a additional payments based on apperances.

QPR had sell on clauses on Sterling and got heaps from Liverpool when he was unsold to city. So they work nicely so long as there isn't a Rudan leaving rule.
