Tbh, the "she fell over" chant was probably worse than the booing for Roly. I've always thought it was customary to give an ex player a bit of schtick when the come over for a corner, or they take a throw in near the zone, hence the "who are yah" chant. Saw Roly laughing at that actually. Booing him every second of the game is a bit dick, but i'm surprised no one brought up the "she fell over" chant over it. Thought we had some unwritten rule about not using that

Was this Mandi's best game in the nix shirt? Not just for the goal but he was everywhere, huge contrast from when he first started with us and his lack of gametime/fitness after coming back from a long term injury. I hope he can keep improving and get to the peak of what he is capable of.

Its not "PC bullshark", its avoiding sexism where there's no reason for it to exist.

yes. Some cracking passes Inc one reverse pass in the first half that took out three wsw players. Picked the pocket in defence a number of times.

Did anyone else notice towards the start of the game, Dura did a bit of a run and put a defence splitting through ball to Krishna. It was about a 40 yarder and was inch perfect?

Might as well give me a holiday HN because im farked if i understand how things work on here anymore and yes there is far to much PC bullshark and people claiming offence when none is intended by a poster. This new sensitivity is just about to much handle. Was fine last year for some to falsely accuse me of being a racist with no sanction. Shark if someone says that "same old aussies always cheating " isnt to be used that would be it.

Yep, me too. The comment in relation to the ‘she fell over’ chant has finished me off. I personally don’t chant any of this stuff because I don’t reside in the YF zone but to me chants like this are very much part of the game; they add to the atmosphere . . . and as far as I’m concerned if someone is saying you can’t chant stuff like that because it might be offensive or sexist or whatever, then frankly I don’t give a monkeys. There’s too much sadness in this world as we’ve witnessed this last week to be getting uptight about these kinds of things and mounting campaigns to have them stopped. Once you start down that track it’s a slippery slope. And by the way before anyone accuses me of sexism, misogyny or the like I just happen to think that Sarah Gregorious, and before her Narelle Sindoss, is the best addition to the Sky commentary team ever . . . leaving some of her male counterparts for dead. Goodnight.

You want my thoughts?

I don't think it's appropriate or accurate.

I don't know if you've watched the women's game much but you are far more likely to see Christiano Ronaldo hit the deck under no contact than you are Amy Morgan, so how does 'she fell over' make any sense? That chant suggests the likes of Sarah Gregorious are weaker people and/or more likely to feign an injury in a game of football which is quite clearly not the case. Pretty sure in a tackle she'd break both my legs.

Further to that people should be able to offer that view without a pile of whataboutery and allegations of 'political correctness'. It's not political it's just respectful. Times change, it's not the 1950s anymore or the 1980s English terraces. The chant is embarrassing for it's sexism and for it's inaccuracy.

It may not stop happening on our terraces but offering an opinion that it doesn't seem right deserves more than the tired responses and maybe some informed and thoughtful debate.

Screaming political correctness and showing a lack of understanding about other peoples opinions or beliefs has caused enough codery in this world.

Mandi confuses me. There are so many good things about his game yet at times he can be genuinely awful, eg, against Sydney recently. With the finishing line of the season in sight I'm not sure we can expect much more of an improvement and I find it odd that even now he's running out of puff and getting subbed off every game.

I'm probably being too harsh on him but that's because he's a visa player and you really need top value for money from them. But I guess if he was a better player we would've never got him in the first place.

I've said cheat fell over since I<3Nix suggested it as an alternative years ago.

I can never tell if people are saying she, he or cheat because it all becomes the background sound to what I'm yelling in my head.

But yea "she fell over" is some antiquated sexist BS that is unnecessary since there are plenty of non sexist choices.

He is the best midfielder we had in a long time. He came as a late injury clouded signing and I'm not sure what we have done without him. He does all the midfield things well, intercept passes, holds the ball and distributes it. A real work horse. I rate him.

Former "She fell over!" Chanter here. Stopped participating in it because I felt it wasn't right to use 'she' as an insult, there's nothing wrong with being a 'she'. It implies that being a female somehow makes you lesser. It doesn't really insult the player that dived like a filthy cheater, it only really insults women for their gender being used as a derogatory term.

As for the 'There’s too much sadness in this world as we’ve witnessed this last week to be getting uptight about these kinds of things' comments, yeah a portion of the sadness in the world can be attributed to men thinking they're superior to women and jokes/comments that sympathize with this position. You're right, there is too much sadness in the world, so lets try make the Fever a happy place, for both ladies and gentlemen :)

Exactly, he's so much better than anyone we've had because (a) his technical level is much higher and (b) he understands how to change the tempo of a game, he can play slow or quick and it makes a huge difference

After last Friday I think our society needs to push the re-set button and change the way some of us [including me] treat each other. Its too easy to be nasty or demeaning on our keyboards but I am definitely changing my whole attitude to life and respecting of others. I'm doing it in other parts of my life but for all of us, if we also seek change, this forum is a good place to demonstrate our commitment to that.

I really don't get the objection. It's not PC to say that using a gender as an insult is a dick move.

The moment someone mentioned that is was so clear, I don't get the objection to not being sexist.
