Blast from the past on SS3 right now, Northern Spirit vs Kingz from I think the Kingz fourth season.
2-0 to the Kingz at this stage of the highlights, 'classic' obviously means 'a day when the Kingz actaually won!'
Interesting sightings include Alex Wilkinson and John Hutchison now of the Mariners.

God i have fond memories of that match. Hazza taking the pen to get his trick before smashing home a brilliant 4th anyway, Utting sliding into the bench before Dugdale telling him to prompty 'f**k off' back to his goal. Ahh, the memories...

Another in the Kingz side was Patricio Almendra....probably the biggest cheat ever to play football in New Zealand. His dives would have made Greg Louganis proud.

Also just realised our boy Kwasnik was in this match and got sent off! I've also realised that CCM is just a Northern Spirit old-boys club.
Wilkinson, Hutchinson, MacCallister, Osman, Ferguson, and Tobin are all former Northern Spirit players on the books at CCM right now and Kwasnik, O'Sullivan (both with us at the Nix), Bingley, Tomasevic, Spencer, Petrie, and Woodruffe are all former Northern Spirit players who went on to the Mariners and from what I can see on Wikipedia (font of all reliable knowledge) they all played for the Spirit under CCM boss Lawrie McKinna!

Last night it was the Kingz beating Newcastle 5 - 1 from 2000 (I think). Marvellous stuff.

If that's the 4-0 win, it was well controlled stuff. I'd just got off a plane from Europe that morning and had terrible jetlag. Second half woke me up.
