With the qualifiers in March and the tournament in June, how far are we along in naming the squad to firstly try to qualify and then compete at the tournament.

Without having any real knowledge of young players at home any more, who do we think should be in.

Goal Keepers: Balasaj

Defenders: Luke Adams, Bill Tuiloma, Harshae Raniga, Luke Rowe (age?) and James Musa (age?)

Midfielders: Payne, Howieson, Rhys Jordan, Cameron Lindsey

Forwards: Hamish Watson, Tyler Boyd

With the Wiakato Boys pulling out as well, it will be interesting to see if any of them still get a look in like Edge and (i forget his name, bte creative attacking player Thomas??)

Musa, Rowe and Lindsay are all too old.

From Wellington Phoenix Stats...Lindsay misses by 10 days

Lindsay is born 92

This is for the 93 kids

Payne, Balasaj and Higgins are the only players still young enough from the last squad that went to Columbia

Heard they have just had their final camp before naming the Team. Anyone know when that team is announced?

Fiji in March

Squad must be picked soon

Interesting.  Van Elia is Very, very quick and did a good job for TeeDubs yoof last year.  Assume the older Schrijvers as well.

They must both be close to making an U20 domestic side so maybe they mixed the squads up a bit.

Canterbury's Ken Yamamoto is still in the mix apparently.

Kotahitanga. We are one.

Team is named on Feb 10..

Only some overseas players will make it back for the qualifiers

Not sure if Fenton or Boyd will be released by the  phoenix if make they playoffs.

Roux, Adams, Rhys Jordan, Payne, Howieson probably not come back either.

The others plus a few from the last squad that went to colombia will come back - Van Elia and maybe a couple of dark horses

The team that goes away to Turkey and the team that qualifies will be completely different.

You'd think thy'd all be sitting on their phones waiting to hear either way.

Looks disorganised when you announce something and do not follow through with it... pretty amatuerish for a national body

Nothing has changed in 30 years.

it must be a secret...

US intelligence agencies should outsource to new zealand football.

rather than going to great expense and trouble to keep the lid on roswell, they could just send the file over.  no information will ever get out.

I am actually really keen to see who gets picked for this as I feel like we'll have a decent squad.

Don't particularly like the coach and his general game plan, too direct.

Will any u17 players make th cut like Payne did last time round?

If Hamish Watson and Tom Biss make the squad, I'll shoot myself.

Tom Biss is an interesting one. Didn't he go to Perth to train because Gouldy was there? Now he's part of the Nix academy because Gouldy is back?

After the Musa situation, maybe Gouldy has his favourites?

Anyway.. I'd assume both will make it.

Gould must be the only man in the universe to rate Biss.

You're embarrassing yourself further. Go rewatch that game. Ive seen him a few times in asb. To leave him out of under 20s is nuts.
