Does anybody know if anywhere is opening up in London to show the awaited match?

according to this link http://www.wheresthematch.com/fixtures/Football.asp?gameid=4212&channelid=24, british eurosport are playing the match, but i can't find anything more concrete (the scheduling on their website doesn't go that far ahead)

how did the Walkabout pan out for the 1st leg?  how many people turned up?  i'm thinking that given the first leg result, quite a few people will turn up if somewhere is showing it.

just thought i'd post this nice and early to make sure i'm not watching on crappy internet feed come november 14.  somewhere with the noise from the stadium turned up nice and loud would be good.

Allwhite players on TV in UK this weekend: Blackburn game on Sky tomorrow at 12:30 (because obviously if i watch them play for their club on TV, they will play better for NZ on Nov 14)

If the game is on one of the TV channels I will probably come down to London for the weekend (watch it in a pub with a bit of atmosphere).

If it is the laptop, I will watch it at home and annoy the neighbours by screaming "f**k" really loudly at 9 in the morning.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Hey walksox, been meanign to reply to this but couldn't remember the topic!  The atmosphere at the walkie was really good and there seemed to be a lot of people there just for the match which was great.  But teh coverage was terrible, I got there at halftime and it was just an internet feed plugged into the TV and it was extremely slow and flickery, barely watchable in fact.

If it is on Eurosport then I'd say that YF/ the Beig Brigade will organise something.  Perhaps a breakfast affair?  I know that the Beige guys have good contacts with the Speights bar who were keen to host the last one, may be a little different seeing that it's in the morning though.

Will keep you posted

Yeah, i was thinking of getting in touch with the Southerner (Speights bar??) once i get confirmation that it is on eurosport, to see if they will open.  I beleive they were open for the Allblacks home games in tri nations, although with the double time change with daylight savings going on/off the Allwhites game will be 2 hours earlier than that - kick off will 7am.

does the average London Kiwi know about this?  once i figure out where we're gonna watch it, i'll do my bit to advertise this to anyone i know (so that if someone opens up for us, we make sure it is woth their while).  i saw there was a brief artical in the TNT about the game selling out, so i assume there was something decent in last weeks about the result in Bahrain.

Yeah - I would say that there is pretty good knowledge of the match, at least among most of my mates (although they are quite into sport in general).  There were definitely a lot of people there at the walki just to watch the game, the whole place was completely packed (although I understand that's quite normal for 6 on a saturday)

7am is quite niggly though

It did mention it Walksox but it was still relatively brief and most of my friends here only seem to know about the NZ vs Australia league test this weekend.

British Eurosport 1, 7am November 14: Footbal - WC Qualifying LIVE.....that can be only one game.

only a two hour slot, so hopefully it doesn't go into extra time (and hopefully that's because we've won 3-0)

So now to find a place that is screening it.

Wathch this space, tell your friends.

UPDATE:  Just went down to the Southerner (Speights Bar), and they are keen to show it.  the guy i talked to is going to double check that it is on and then call me.  he was pretty keen to see it himself so said he'd pretty much open up if it were just me and him.

So i am backing the Southerners bid to host the match!

According to their website, Shepherds Bush walkabout are opening for it, so if it's more convenient for you to go to an Australian Bar to watch NZ play, then at that time of the morning i can't blame you, but really, we ought to go to the southerner.

Show of hands for the Southerner?

Walksox, that's excellent work.  It's a pity it's not 8 a.m as that might have been just a bit more palatable.  I have to say I'm tossing up, I want to watch it with other people but I'm not sure that the lure of my own lounge won't overcome that desire!

if i had sky i would also be tempted just to watch at home..

the guy just called me back and they are definitely going to show it.  he even told me to phone him when i know how many people i'm bringing and he'll save me the couches!

so if you're keen for the southerner, tell all your kiwi mates and lets see if we can't recreate a bit of that stadium atmoshpere.

soooooo close now.

Just to confirm that the Southerner will be open to show the match, and it sounds like there will be a reasonable crowd in (quite a few people have been phoning them to see if they are playing it).

Jubilee line is only running between waterloo and north greenwich - but you'd be surprised at how quickly you can get across london on a bus at that time on a saturday morning.

Info from FB
Well it is hard to believe but this Saturday the All Whites take on Bahrain in their final World Cup qualifying match. A win would mean they qualify for the first time since '82. We will be opening the pub bright and early at 7am to catch the game live. There will be all day breakfast pies available for purch...ase with Watties sauce and 10 pound super jugs of any of the Speights range.

I think there will be a few at the Southerner, i know of about 12+ the barman, so there's got to be at least twice that many, and it's not a huge pub, so 20-30 people would create a decent atmosphere.

Funny that that Rugby match against Italy is actually being played at the San Siro - kind of like an unintentional tribute to football from the Allblacks to the Allwhites on their biigest day.  Either that or the stadium was free due to it being a FIFA window...

One last plug for the southerner.... sounds like the guy is going to be there on time to let us in slightly before kick off to tuck into our all day breakfast pies.

Anyone else remember that song by the muttonbirds "I wish I was in Wellington"?  sounds like there is a buzz going on there and that song has been in my head all day.  best i could do on youtube was "giand friend" and "nature".  I am almost crying now.
