There's been a few lists floating about the best AW XI's post '82, all time etc. Well I'm curious as to whom you would take to the World Cup if you could pick any AW ever.

A starting XI plus the 12 bench warmers.

My 23 (4-3-3):

                          Wilson

Herbert    Nelsen     C.Evans      A.Elrick

Armstrong        Sumner         McGarry

           Rufer     Newell     B. Turner

Bench:

Gosling                           Nelson
Moss                              Cole
Elliott                             D.Taylor
Coveny                         C.Jackson
Vicelich                          Wooddin
Zoricich                          T.Smith

Some big calls there and some players maybe unknown to many of the younger poeple on this forum.  Smith might shock many but I have a feeling he will go on to become one of our best ever players and seems quite comfortable on the left, a problem position for NZ traditionally.

Moss?

The one on the bench would probably be Keith Nelson

Yeah your right there Leggy, but I've also sorted Ryan's name which had a typo and yeah I recon Moss is better then the likes of Paston, Van Hattum, Batty, Utting etal. disco_mart2010-06-12 01:11:31

As an opening bid I'd have Nutting ahead of Moss.  Nuting at Confeds 99.  End of.

To be fair Mossy was pretty fkn good at Confeds 09, but surely he's not one of our best ever three keepers.

When I saw that name I first thought of Owen Nuttridge, who was also a good keeper.
Michael was a very good keeper, but had a few problems.

True, but in fairness he did his best to put them behind him.

Three for me, and two for them.
