Anyone contacted Kyle Chapman?  He might be good for a few All Whites.

NZF just posted on Facebook that there's less than 5000 tickets available for public sale starting tomorrow

Could've sold out Eden Park after all.

How does 35000 minus 23000 pre sales leave only 5000 public seats left?

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

NZFootball staff, friends, sponosors, FIFA, and the rest.  Then Corporate box holders, travel company pre-solds.

So they're not actually needing 35,000 All Whites then? More like 28,000 and then 7,000 hangers-on.

Anyway, looking forward to them posting the sold out sign today or tomorrow.

Arf, Arf!.....didn't some people on the Forum and/or Pod say they thought the interest was not really there and that ticket sales would stall around the 20,000 mark and that loads of people would wait until near the end before deciding to buy. Looks like ticket sales will be done and dusted with a couple of months still to go.

Which brings me to another point.....give the NZ public proper meaningful football games and they will come. Get NZ into the Asian WC playoffs and give us games against Australia, Japan, Korea etc. There is big interest in watching the AW's play.....but it has to be proper games. No more crap games against teams from coral islands or useless friendlies. Time we moved into the real world.....end of RANT!

Better football would help as well. The games against the Islands in chch and Dunedin should have been a romp. I don't want to travel to see as struggle against terrible competition.

Getting better international fixtures in NZ is one thing, the key word in Nammag's comments is "meaningful". Bringing a Liverpool or West Ham to NZ will fill the ground with the followers of those teams but that is not really going to create the cauldron in favour of the All Whites we experienced  in the 2010 playoff game. Same is said for a one off visit from Japan.

Two things are required. A full strength All Whites side on display, and a competition. At this stage the only competition we could have available to us is the Asian League or a World Cup playoff. So again we revert back to the Asian Confederation argument.

(Start another thread to discuss this, but will anything new come out?)

Given Oceania's performance at the Confed Cup this year, FIFA may make this decision for us.

Couldn't have said it better!

If we had teams like Japan turn up to Christchurch the stadium would be a sell out within minutes!

The island nations should play for themselves and NZ in Asia.

It'd be better to lose to greater teams and not go to the World Cup for a while, but gain experience and playing decent teams in front of decent crowds, than to win against Tahiti in front of 2500 people...

NZ in asia is never gonna happen with current asian confed boss and current NZF bosses, neither want it to happen. Which is sad cos going forward it is the only way for NZ football to grow.

I'm sure getting our top players back to play in each window would be easier against better opposition. Football fans and managers in Europe can understand players leaving to play Japan, Korea or Australia but don't understand why we need  those players against amateur island nations. They also probably believe their 'investments' are safer playing Tokyo or Seoul with proper refs and grounds then Honiara.

I know the banker at the international clubs would prefer not to release the player most likely backed by the insurance agent but small countries need the Heroes. How many CLUB games did Ryan Nelson miss through injuries picked up on international duty. Stats men enter here:
