Okay...I'm a kit geek but thought I might try and put together a kit history of the All Whites ove the past three decades. By no means definitive...but here goes.

Very cool, probably worth getting the away kits in here as well, those are the ones I found particularly interesting. I'll post a picture of another Pony Home Kit I have soonish.

Also, other than the shorts, what (if any) differences are there between those two 2003 kits?

The striped kit was worn by the under 17s at the U17 World Cup held here in NZ.

Some really decent kits in there. I have to say that they've gone downhill since they became Nike though, IMHO. I have another old Mitre one - I think it was from 97-98 (give or take).

I thought that Nike just made it simple and clear with one colour with no trimmings and so it avoid eyesores from the watermarks. I don't mind the early 2000 Addias ones, I'll have them over the Mitres simply because are have a bit of the old 82 Addias traditional look to it. The Mitres, Pony, Ribero and Lecosporttif gears did not appeal to me as much because they tired too hard and was too complex looking. So I can understand they didn't last as long. The Mitres had a bit going but is a distant third behind Addias and Nike. IMHO.AllWhitebelievr2010-02-17 02:12:46

My favorite was missing so I've taken a photo of my own one:

The '97-'98 one when the AWs were getting quite large crowds at North Harbour in the WC qualifiers

(my best memories of watching football back home except for Waikato United losing at Mt Wellington in the old National League Final to Napier or Waitakere City (can't remember which side it was)).

Have since noticed someone else has posted this shirt, oh well... I've worn it for about 12 yeas now on a regular basis (weekly) and its still in pretty good nick considering.

I really like that shirt but there was a Mitre one before that too. It was almost plain white with a black and white collar. I have it at home with Zoricich on the back. I'll take a photo and post it on here tonight.

PS: The Le Coq Sportif shirt is the absolute business!

Can anyone tell me when this shirt is from? The guy I bought it off reckoned it was a player issue confeds cup shirt.

Nope, older than that.  1999 Confeds was Adidas and 2003 was Nike.

They're our only two Confeds appearances.

I have a DVD of a WCQ in Auckland v Israel from 1988-89. The All Whites were wearing that shirt so I'd go on record as saying it's late 80's. Either way, it's a nice shirt - I actually really like it.

Had a quick look in that period and counldn't find any squads that had a #18, although it could be a youth player's.

I did have a look on FIFA.com but they don't have the line-ups, only the results. The game I mentioned, against Israel, was the 9th April 1989. I will have a look at the DVD when I get home tonight and see if number 18 is in the starting line-up...

The kit was worn during the 1990 world cup qualifiers. It was worn in a magnificent 2-0 win over the socceroos at Mt Smart. You can find some clips of the game on Youtube.

Oska, I can confirm that number 18 was a certain Tommy Mason. Well, he was in the game against Israel, so I'm assuming he was for the whole campaign for the 90 World Cup.
