I have always hated playing with just 1 striker, Woods is being tightly marked and its been easy for the Irish to do so.

No one can make a simple pass. Doyle in particular gives ball away all the time. McGlinchy! Did not realise he was playing til commentator said his name. Just a few hopeful lobs from NZ towards box. Needs big change in effort in second half.

Roux needs a go. replace Colvey. Smith looks rusty as ****

Smith has been our weakest link in the Back.

We aren't pressing but we aren't keeping our defensive shape either, and we just seem afraid of the ball when we do get it back. Northern Ireland are a well organised team which is greater than the sum of it's parts but we are treating them like the 2010 Spain side.

Think three debatable selections have been poor, colvey, Doyle and Lewis.

Should be replaced post haste with wynne, roux and themi to see if that changes anything

I dont recognise them from the team that played mexico and the USA. I think/hope that our poor play is down to people getting familiar with their teammates again, the style of play and the tactics. 

with more time together hopefully we should see better cohesion.

But that doesnt address our woeful touches or passing, that might be something else...

Nope still horrible football being played by the AW's.

slight tactical change this half - play it to wee mac or billy t, they play it to a defender, they then bang it long and wide. lose the ball scramble back and repeat.

in the first, they were all just banging it long and wide.

There was that one sharp move along the ground which led to Doyle's shot. Why can't we try that a bit more often? Seems like we are never trying to up the tempo when we have possession

wow over 16,000 in attendance. thats awesome. 

So we are now playing 4-4-2 with Boxall as RB, I hope this gets us to have at least a shot on goal

How good is it to play against decent teams 

Didn't seem like we did a lot of playing. 

Only watched the second half. 

How was Thomas v Kosta? How was Rojas? Kosta is perhaps a bit more durable than Marco?

Didn't seem like we mustered that much going forward, as the case will be in the CC. Gotta take those chances. Kosta unlucky, but have seen that from him a bit.

Good second half, we played much better with four at the back. IMO we should play a 4-1-2-1-2.

Awful first half, better in the second specially those 10-15 mins when Kosta got his chance. But still we only made two or three shots in the whole game and the defence didn't look too good. Tuiloma is class and should always be starting instead of Lewis. Hope we see more cohesion against Belarus.

Mostly terrible but a few little signs that if we get the ball down and attack along the ground at pace we can create chances.

Id rather clone Wood myself
