Mynamar's 9-0 loss was surpassed in AFC World Cup qualifiers on Friday by Bhutan's 15-0 loss to Qatar and Malaysia's 10-0 loss to UAE:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_FIFA_World_Cup_...

In a ridiculous round South Korea also beat Laos 8-0, Saudi Arabia beat Timor-Leste 7-0, Iran v Guam was 6-0, Australia v Bangladesh 5-0 and Iraq v Chinese Taipei 5-1.

76 goals were scored in the 15 qualifiers played (average of more than five per game).

(Two 0-0's and three 1-0's kept the total from hitting 100)

It'd be a lot of fun if we were part of AFC and amongst the goals...

The All Whites would also wallop many of these sides.

The new AFC qualifying system should be rewied. Without a couple of rounds were teams like Guam, Bangladesh and Laos can eliminate each other this results will still happen. And that's something they should be trying to avoid. At least it makes AFC doesn't look so perfect for us

Woot, at least Taiwan got a goal against Iraq.

I feel sorry for Bangladesh, I used to date a Bengali and they do love their football.

Rumour has it that Liam Higgins is going to start as the left centre back in a 3, Tom Doyle as the left wing back, Kosta as the right wing back and Smeltz as one of the two up front

This would be very dumb of Hudson to pull this stunt.

And yes, to play those guys in that formation, would be a stunt.

Didn't the u20s play in that shape for some of the games? Hudson was involved with the u20s and has a few with him now, just going to add in a few experienced AWs into the mix.

He should pick his best players in their best positions. Is Kosta a right wingback? Has he every played as a right wingback? Has he ever had success at right wingback.

When you answer those questions for yourself, you will then understand how fudgeing dumb an idea it is.

I'm sure that Kosta has played at WB for the AWs before, in our 343 days. The next Leo? Would suspect that when cleared, Roux, and when not injured, Fenton, will be likely candidates in a WB roll.

Dammit, I read we are playing wingbacks and a back 3 after I put 5 bucks on us winning 5-0

Well, I'm still hoping it'll be a convincing win and not a close Burma-Shave.

Interesting that Taiwan lost that heavily. I used to think they were a half decent Asian side. Many could say that about us too I suppose following recent results

Haven't being this unexcited about a game in a while. Playing a team ranked outside the top 150 in the world in a friendly... seems like a waste of money to fly guys from all around the world over.

Oh well I guess getting used to the conditions will be good preparation for when we play the away playoff match in Asia! Oh wait...

Different players altogether. Guys like lewis dyer & co need to be a pro clubs before playing AW - just a blanket rule id have. Would like to see Keat back.

This is the first time in about 7-8 years i'm not going to watch an All Whites game. I just have zero faith in the leadership and Hudson and if I wake up and they have scrapped a draw or lost Hudson should walk/be shoved.

The whole in ineligibility thing has me disillusioned with NZF.

The preview on the NZF website said Hudson is keeping the same "philosophy" but "tweaking the system" - that's the closest I've seen to anyone official saying it'll be 3 at the back. The same article also  had Hudson saying said this though:

“This time last year, not only did we not have any depth, we had players playing out of position, we had a weak squad in terms of numbers and we had a complete imbalance in terms of the age of squad in relation to Russia 2018.

“So where we find ourselves now is a much healthier position. We’ve got balance all around the team and we’ve got some competition in every single position so I’m really pleased.”

So maybe take it with a pinch of salt.

Don't want to sound like Im beating a dead horse but after re-watching the All Whites vs SA game the composure on the ball shown by James and his vision and execution is at a level I don't feel any of these young guys can match. The passes and general composure on the ball shown by himself and Weemac was exciting to watch and I think adding Tuiloma into that mix rather than Payne could really be a winner for us. Then again maybe not but if we are giving these young guys run after run after run I don't see why we wouldn't call him up to atleast have a look at?

Where is James playing though? Couldn't even make the starting squad in the French 4th division?

I'm fairly certain the only reason we are playing this game is to fix Hudsons winless record as All Whites coach.

Could be 3 at the back.  there are a number of ways to implement 3-5-2, you dont have to use wingbacks. You can use 1 defensive mid in front of the back 3 who drops in if one of the backs has to cover an attack out wide. Tuiloma would be perfect for this.

that was weird, huh? Made his come back for us, looked really good and then didn't manage to pick up a club, not even in NZ, didn't play much in the 4th tier in France. Face it though, never going to be in Hudson's plans.

How are the boys on the anthem? Used to be the eligibility test...
