Tried making this in the main forum but wouldn't let me.

Simple really, best player across the three games.

For me its Elliot, really kept the shape in the centre of the park defensively and was the imputus for most attacks. Close seond Nelson and Paston.

Voted Reid. Looked very comfortable in the presence of the greats- calm tackling, cool finish

One for the future as well

Only one vote? Bugger, should be 15. Big call between Paston and Nelsen but I've gone for the Admiral.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Nelsen. How many times will people continue to get this wrong.

And yeah i voted for the Admiral. He is the heart and soul of everything good about this team.

Three for me, and two for them.

I've gone for Reid. The game last night tipped the balance for me over Elliott, Nelesen and Paston. Reid is incredibly athletic, very difficult to get past and as comfortable on the ball as any of the team. His touch seems far more assured than either Fallon or Killen. Great things beckon. I think Reid was our biggest discovery. He is going to be the man in the future. But can't go past big Nelly.

Nelsen, Elliot, Paston in that order.

Tommy Smith will pick up an improved contract and club.  Reid definately will.  Bertos looked reinvigorated.  Pasty will be immense for Nix.  Wood will hopefully be a frequent rotational player at WBA in the EPL.

Entire team has been immense, and truly a cohesive team unit.  Loved ya work boys!

Nelsen, Paston, Elliott. Reid as young player.

Nelsen then Elliot then Patson

I sure hope the first two being the older campaigners of our team were so inspired and happy they decide to stick around for the next one

Mike Patson.

We created about 3 chances, but he had to save about a googleplex.

As above, please learn to spell our players names correctly.  It's not that difficult.

Nelsen

Paston by the length of the straight.

Nolsen for me.  He was outstanding over 3 games.

If he sticks around for 2014 is he banned for the first game in that tournament due to the two yellows?  I'm thinking not but not at all sure.

Nelsyn was good, no doubt.

not sure about T. Smith. he's already in championship with Ipswich, probably not ready for a move to premier league yet. give him a couple of years, though.

Without Nelsen we would have got nowhere. Simple as that.

Entire team immense? I'd question that. In terms of effort undoubtedly, but I really don't think the stocks of Fallon, Killen, & Wood (unfair given limited time perhaps) have risen from what they were.

Was suitably impressed by Wiremuuuu. Future All Whites captain.

But my vote went to the current one for both performance and leadership.

Since I have to choose ... Paston, Nelsen, Elliott (with two t's please ..)

But they all deserve medals I think.

Every single play should get credit for either playing out of their skin or pushing the starting XI to its limits in order to maintain their starting position.

However, I picked Elliott as I thought he was the soul of the team, aged 36, without a club for several months he really made the difference.
Of course I am not forgetting everyone else, including Paston, Nelsen, Reid, Leo, Ivan, Locky and the strikers.

Can we have a squad option? Those whom didin't appear are just as important as thopse that did.

Sure there were some excellent stand-out moments from Paston, Nelsen & Elliott & of course Reid's & Smeltz's goals. Vicelich & Elliott belying their age ran around like 20 year olds for all three games.

But those that didn't play in the finals but did inthe qualifying deserve equal mention. They helped get us there.

They are all heroes in my blinkered eyes.

Nelsen
Paston
Elliott
Reid
Smith
Smeltz

In that order.

Edit - My PotT is very close between Nelsen, Paston and Elliot but Nelsen get's it for leadership as well as performance. His influence is obvious, we'd be half the team we are without him.TopLeft072010-06-25 18:30:11

Everyone played amazingly and I think the whole team needs a big mention although for me it was Nelsen and Pasty that stood out the most.

I have been impressed by many but, really, Nelsen was the heart and soul of that team.

Elliott, Nelsen, Paston, Smeltz and Reid were the standouts for me and I can't really split them.

The only players that disappointed me a bit were Fallon and Killen considering their form going into the WC.

I agreed. Nelsen and Paston are equal but I chose Paston because the poll doesn't reflect how close it was between them.

Sir Ryan for me.

I could see him fitting in nicely at the back with Sir Ledley at the lane next season as well.

Is it true that Ricki only used 15 players in the 3 matches, because he new that was the limit of a Yellow Fever poll?

No.If the ban still applies post-WC, he'll be banned for our next WC Qualifier.

The same way Mossy's ban covered two qualifiers and then two WC proper matches.

Usually im very crictical of Elliot and Lochead. But Elliot played very well and Lochead was good sometimes but usually he reminded me of why I think hes sh!t. Anyway voted Nelsen.

i'd give a .333 to Nielsan / Mick Paston / Read.

But the whole vote should go to the squad/entourage. Listening to the interviews today, it struck me to a man that everyone emphasized what a TEAM effort it was -even those that didn't play.. and it sounded genuine.. not the <full credit to..> type comments

I voted for Tommy cos I'm an Ipswich fan and i think he did well.  But of course Nelsen - over the 3 games, just outstanding.

I'd also like to see the rest of the squad given a bit more credit.  i'm assuming they made a big contribution on the training pitch, with their attitude, and for some of them, for getting us there in the first place (I know that's not the subject of this poll).  I don't think I've ever felt sorry for a Cantabrian before, but I do feel for Ben Sigmund.  Wins us the corner that gets put away for qualification and then never features.  Even Barron got 2 minutes.

Siggy would'e been even more gutted we didn't get through considering Nelsen would've missed the next game

The ban would be for the first world cup qualifier for 2014 not for the actual tournament.
