You should all know by now how much we love Football at SportZone and here is an opportunity to help us love it even more.

On the 14th of November, as part of the build up to the All Whites World Cup Qualifier against Bahrain, SportZone and Street Football Aotearoa are running the first Street Football National Championship in the area in front of the TSB Arena, Wellington.

Our task is to find funding to build the World Class portable pitch for the games.

We are seeking sponsors of any donated goods, services or even the elusive cash!
We have some great rewards on offer for your contribution so i

Fantastic response so far from Radio Sport, InterIslander, Woolf Photography and Party Ponies. The pitch is being built by Longpanel and the trailer by Billabong.
Once built this 22m x 16m pitch will be available for hire around the country.

Sounds like a great idea, NZ having one of these would be fantastic.
Yellow Fever as potential sponsors?
You know we belong together...

You would think so. If enough Yellow Feverites list their contributions on behalf of Yellow Fever I'm sure the appropriate amount of recognition will be forthcoming.

That is commercially sensitive info but the the freestylers will be part of the Street footy event.

The Street Football event is the national championship tournament for the players looking to make the New Zealand Team travelling to Rio next year for the Homeless World Cup.

There will be opportunities for other games during the breaks. We should be posting the schedule for the day on here as well when it's finalised.

There may be a open session of sorts where people can have a kick around on the pitch so feverites can get a feel for this new football resource

but essentially the event is for the Homeless National Tournament, plus the Freestyle Comp,

And Dark Horse; like Sportzone says its still commercially sensitive, but there may be developments with that- stay tuned to Media Release later this week

So will it be worth going and having a look? I don't fancy watching the homeless guys and would be looking for more entertainment than that. I'll be in town without transport so looking for something do that is close to the railway station. might end up being a feed and few beers and off to the ground.

You'll definitely want to be at Freestyle Football.  Went off like a frog in a sock last year and no doubt this year will be the same.

Close to the ground and with buses on from there to Team Wellington and back.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

It'll be Football Central at Queens Wharf on the day. Plenty of food, liquids and entertainment and things to participate in, in that part of town.
The main entertainment starts at 12pm so get there early for a good seat.robly the balcony at Chicago Bar if you don't want to move.
