Don't think this has been raised elsewhere (although I can feel the wrath of HN coming if it has), but how will Ricki line the AW's up against Fiji on Saturday?

Here's the squad (caps/goals in brackets)

Goalkeepers
Mark Paston (Wellington Phoenix - 14/0)
James Bannatyne (Team Wellington 5/0)

Defenders
Tony Lochhead (Wellington Phoenix 13/0)
James Pritchett (Auckland City 6-0)
Andy Boyens (Toronto FC - 2/0)
Ben Sigmund (Auckland City 2/0)
Ivan Vicelich (RKC Waalwijk 60/6)
Jeremy Christie (Wellington Phoenix 10/0)

Midfielders
Leo Bertos (Perth Glory 18/0)
Tim Brown (Wellington Phoenix/Captain 13/0)
Duncan Oughton (Columbus Crew 18/2)
Jeff Campbell (Auckland City 17/3)
David Mulligan (Sc**thorpe FC/Grimsby Town 16/0)
Chris James (Unattached 7/1)

Forwards
Shane Smeltz (Wellington Phoenix 16/3)
Jarrod Smith (Hawkes Bay United 8/0)
Chris Killen (Celtic FC 26-15)

Plodder---Boyens----Vicelich---Lochy
Mulligan---Oughton---Brown---Bertos
---------Smeltz----Killen----------

though dont know if James will miss out - and not sure if Ricki likes Oughton. Should just stick to a basic formation and not faff around with any fancy sh* te

More like the only 2 strikers. Tactics should be for Bertos and Mulligan to pump some balls in from the byline... use a bit of height.

I like the looks of this team. Although I would really prefer to see James in there for Oughton. We shouldn't need to worry about bringing James on as an impact player for Oughton etc. James is one of the best passers and movers we have at the moment. We need to keep the ball off the fijians and Chris is the best for that.

If we build it, they will come...

GKP Mark Paston

LB Tony Lochhead

CB Andy Boyens

CB Ivan Vicelich

RB Dave Mulligan

LM Leo Bertos

CM Chris James

CM Tim Brown

RM Duncan Oughtoun

STR Shane Smeltz

STR Chris Killen

That right there is an extremely strong all whites team.  Oughtoun is a wide player not in the middle. Mully can play in midfield or defence and is really good at both. The best thing about this team is that they are all getting regular perfume. (Bar Brown or Paston)

Oughton can also play in the middle mate, he did in the last game against Wales from memory and did well. I think he has played most of his football for NZ at right fullback though.

By the way...what does regular perfume mean?? Or was that a typo??

Oughton plays in a defensive midfield role normally ie middle of the park

James Bannatyne.  ex-Canterbury United, Petone, Miramar, was at the Kingz for a while.  Won national titles and Chatham Cups at Miramar and with Team Wellington this NZFC.

Game is live on TV1 at 16:00 Saturday.  The game in Fiji next week is delayed on Wednesday night.
