Called the stadium, lady said that yes the Bahrainians are allowed to bring in instruments.  I said but it's in the rules that patrons can't bring them in.  She then put me on hold (very grumpily) and another dude came on and said NZF had said it was ok for the stadium to allow the instruments as it's their event blah blah blah. They can bring in little drums (that must fit under their seat).    But he also said during the game if enough people complained about the noise they would be told not to play them.    He also said we could bring in drums if we wanted.

I still think it blows!

Nah that is rubbish. Not happy

They say in their rules, no drums. Clear as day. Double standards.

Cant do much about it now i guess.

Has anyone planned to bring any drums. Because they will make one hell of a noise?

that gives us more reason to shout, chant and make noise by supporting our AW's. maybe thats why they came out with song sheets. Give em a taste of kiwi! :)

I think at the under 17 world cup nigerian fans were allowed to bring there drums. All we can do is support our team. If i lose my voice im taking the next 2 days off next week loldarkhorse2009-11-14 09:24:16

Why all this confusion for the drums??
When New Zealand fans  attended  in our stadium , they have the Psalms air and they had absolute freedom to spread  the huge Flag of New Zealand's in stadium seats
And their voices were clearly audible to us!!
We have respected treated with your fans  , I hope to get same respect with our fans .

Anyone got a trumpet?

At least we are zoned off. In the 81 match against Kuwait at Mt Smart, some idiot put a knife through the drums in pure frustration.
There was this bizarre moment where we thought, who is carrying what, if it all kicked off. Fortunately, it was a one off.

Thankfully the Bahraini and Kiwi fans are a very friendly lot.
It will add to the occasion. I'll be singing so loud, I won't hear.edward l2009-11-14 09:39:31

Its football atmosphere. The Brasilians do it. its not an advantage. 34500 AW fans chanting v instruments of bahrain supporters is healthy.

I'm all for football atmosphere.

Ring 473 3881 after 9am this morning and let the stadium know we want the musical instruments rule enforced!!!

Does anyone know if are any of the non-All White Phoenix players going to be there to support?

Ifill and Greenie said they'd be there.  Daniel would surely be there.  Can't imagine Costa would randomly piss off for the weekend either.  To be honest unless any of them had to be elsewhere, they wouldn't not go.  Terry must have a box for them all.

Had a refreshing sleep, after several beverages too many at the Kings.  Rufer.  Mad as a cut snake, and his enthusiasm put Hi5 to shame.  But I suppose that's for the other thread.

I have a good feeling about today.
I know Daniel, Diego and Caceres are having a BBQ and party at one of the Brazilian's places (They live next door to each other) and watching it on the TV.

On the drum issue. Surely this will just add to what is going to be an awsesome atmosphere. Lets just hope the AW's play so well that they have nothing to drum about.

C'mon boys!

I'd rather not give them the advantage actually. This is our home patch and trust me 500 people drumming will be very very loud. Add to that it will be more like 4000ish or whatever White noise is chanting and I do not want our advantage to be disadvantaged in any way. Not to happy.

Yeah its nothing against the Barhian fans i am sure they were told that it is perfectly alright.

It does suck that it come out on the last day though. Because all WN fans would assume that instruments are not allowed, as acordance to stadium rules.
We could have a made a good atmosphere with a lot of drums ect.

I've got 1 spare ticket which I'm selling! Anyone want it?

Flick me an email ASAP at [email protected] (Any emails not responded to, means I haven't seen them or the ticket is already gone.

Remember that tickets are currently going for up to $200 on trade me, I'm pretty much giving this one away for $70.

Just heard the news that NZF has approved the bahranis taking drums into the stadium.

How dumb is that!
the one big home advantage we have is the noise of the local crowd. Now all you will hear all night is ferkin drumming. I was at midland park yyesterday and they were drumming there. it was really loud.
The ROF was going to be a hostle environment for the Bahrainiis....now they will have the familar rythm of their own drummers all match.
Some time the NZF is so amatuer it makes me want to chuck!!!!

Get over it! If we can't make more noise than a few drums there is no hope and we'll get what we deserve.
