ALL WHITES V BAHRAIN - Official 2nd Leg T
Algeria were in Mexico in 1986.
Im not sure if it will work again if we allow Bahrain to do what they did in the second half which was to dribble through the middle and play through balls between and over defenders from inside our defensive third. We need to adjust to that in the next game. Im not sure what i would do at this point. We need to score so its probably a case of being bold again.
Disagree - in fact it was Bahrain adjusting to our formation early on, trying to get in behind what they thought would be genuine wing-backs (which they were not), but that clearly wasn't the way they were used to playing (slow in getting numbers forward and picking the right attacking channles to run into with that kind of tactis) and obviously didn't work for them.
When they switched to their more usual style of keeping it on the deck and utilising speed, they cut us open repeatedly, especially in the second half. el grapadura2009-10-14 10:43:38
Also to all the Paston doubters (such as Feverish) do you admit now that I was right all along? Even not including this game with gametime over the past few weeks with the Phoenix he has proven he is just absolute class.
He's played well, but remove your hand.
Want a lazy $100 on who'll play in goal once Mossy has done his 4 games?

Incidently, if it hasn't been mentioned already. If Ivan steps out on the pitch on the 14th, and no reason why he won't, he'll be the highest capped All White. Currently equal with Vaughan Coveny on 64

Let the Southerly be with us.

Let the Southerly be with us.
Shhhh... don't tell them that. Oh, and if the Southerly could roll in about 19:00 after a day of NZFC and Festival of Football in the sun, that would be perfect.

Would be good to watch the ticket sales number rolling on up :)
Could make a big difference.
Also i read on another thread, a 1000 people from Bahrain flying over, including the royal family, wow, I guess security will be tight.

Cool. And i doubt no team knows where there staying at the current time. So why not gamble and go with jo burg. Also im loving the thing under your avatar.
if 1-1, 2-2, 3-3 and any other score draw, then Bahrain goes through by way of away goals. If it is a 0-0 draw, then it goes to extra time and the away goals would not count in extra time. Any draw after ET, then it goes to penalties.

"In the knock-out format, both teams shall play one home and one away match each, the sequence of which will be determined by lots drawn by the FIFA Organising Committee. The team having scored most goals over the two games will qualify for the next round. If both teams score the same number of goals over the two matches, the goals scored away will be counted as double. If the same number of goals is scored away or both matches end without any goals being scored, extra time of two periods of 15 minutes each will be played. If the score is level after extra time, penalty kicks will be taken to determine the winner in accordance with the procedure described in the Laws of the Game."

that is what i thought but an Aussie website is offering packages to SA in Jburg saying "the roos are just a few minutes down the road from your hotel" ??
and yea that emo thing is stupid.

Well thats what NZF has been saying and as I read the FIFA documents it seems to infer that is the case. But as some people have said, it is not obvious to them. But I take it as say as thus that ET is not actually part of the second leg, it is a decider in itself.
If the same number of goals is scored away or both matches end without any goals being scored, extra time of two periods of 15 minutes each will be played. To me it says that after normal time when both matches end (i.e. 90 minutes of the 1st leg and 90 minutes of the 2nd leg) and taking the account of the away goal rule, then extra time of 15 minutes each will be played on the event of an even outcome. I really can't say that it would be read otherwise.
The away goal rule is stupid tbh. they should just go straight to ET and the PSO.
edit:to refer back to the rules in boldAllWhitebelievr2009-10-14 19:29:00
That owuld be because they have qualified and we haven't. Pre-empting these sort of things is a sure way to end up with egg on your face.

but the draw happens on December 4th so how do they know where they are based ?

You prob could have waited a bit longer before you pulled out that call.for a start if someone has a bad game I'll say they did. If they have a good game I will. You somehow seem to be beyond doing this (prob beacuse you are related). He's pulled out a couple of half decent saves in the past couple of games and I thought he was solid enough in Bahrain. Hopefully it will continue. End of the day he's out Nix and AW number one - so he has to be backed.
[QUOTE]for a start if someone has a bad game I'll say they did. If they have a good game I will.
Yes but it is the way you do it in. When he has a bad game you are one of the first to let everyone know (out of credible posters, ignoring the likes of whooooooo) and you do not pull any punches. On his good games I barely hear a whisper from you.
Even now you call his saves "half decent" while if it was say another keeper (who won't be named) you would be calling them fantastic saves, not making it sound like he had an above average performance. However even Nelsen, Herbert and many others have hailed his standout performanc and said he was fantastic.
if we qualify you can hail him all you want (i might even join in )
Also I am sick and tired of this "nervous" excuse. I have no idea where it started but he has done nothing consistently to justify these feelings IMHO.
