I've always wondered why they dont just scrap mid season international friendlies and then make a big 2 month window or something at the end/start of every season so teams can spend lots of time training as a group, and get some consistency. Play 4 or 5 games or a whole qualifying tourny in that time.. ?
That's a tough ask. That window is bound to stuff up rather a few leagues throughout the world. It's already done to an extent every 4 years around World Cup time.
