I find it a bit odd that the game is tomorrow morning, there was apparently a press conference where it was revealed Cacace would be captain, but there has been no reporting on the game beyond the confirmation of injury withdrawals and the call up of Rufer earlier in the week

We sadly live in a rugby land. An injury to any crusader will get more publicity than this game.
Driving through central Christchurch this evening it was great to see a massive electronic billboard advertising the All Whites v Egypt.
It got me thinking where is the monetary value in advertising it? I couldn't be certain but I thought it was a FIFA billboard, and given its a free service they don't make any money from viewers. And from memory there's no advertising. Am I missing something?
I've seen ads on the backs of buses in Christchurch as far back as last week advertising the Football Ferns matches vs. Thailand in April too. So, some good promo for our national sides here in Chrischurch. There's advertising on FIFA+ if you watch the video of a match. About the same amount of ads as on You Tube videos Good idea to use an ad blocker like "U Block Origin".
Looks like yes the game will be at the shiny new 94,000 seater stadium outside Cairo. But crowd limited to 30,000 for first match ever at the new ground.
So that will make it seem a lot less intimidating.
LOL !!! So, I was right last week when I posted that it would be at the new "New Administrative Capital" stadium outside of Cairo. I only edited my post because FIFA and NZ Football said it would be a the Cairo International Stadium. Anyway, the air will be much cleaner there 30 miles outside the capital in the New Administrative Capital. An amazing location and event for the All Whites to be part of. The first international football match in the new stadium which was only completed before Christmas. The crowd limit of 30,000 would be because of the lack of completed infrastructure in the area - the New Administrative Capital itself is far from finished. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Administrative_Capital The world's biggest construction site - a $US 58 billion project for the new admin and financial capital with a future population of about 7 million. A commendable aim to foster cultural and religious unity with a massive Coptic Christian cathedral (showing support for the often mistreated Christian minority) constructed next to what will be Africa's biggest mosque. The 94,000 capacity stadium is the second biggest in Africa and the sixth biggest in he world. Somewhat marred for football with an athletics track around the perimeter - it's built with hosting future Olympics in mind. Photos of the New Administrative Capital construction: https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/2023/08/photos-egypt-new-administrative-capital-megaproject/675179/ Video of the football stadium construction and the surrounding sports city with adjoining indoor arenas etc. Definite Olympic scale vibe! https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/23844337/sport-city-stadium-2036-olympics-egypt/
There really was nothing of interest shared in the All Whites' pre-match press conference. No wonder nobody was in any hurry to do a write a story on it. Bazeley is such a bore.

Yipe Hay had his critics but he was for sure more interesting to listen to, and often pretty open. He could call a spade a spade, and you suspect not afraid of a dressing room spray.
With Bazeley it's always the same old uninspiring fluff, and cheesy smile. A bit of yes man it feels, scared to really upset anyone.
Edit: I predicted Bazeley would go with this lineup (except for thinking Bindon would start instead of Ingham) almost a week ago. He's so predictably sharkmrsmiis
Pijnaker and Ingham starting. What did I fudgeing say
As far as I can tell there is no way to live rewind or watch from the start on FIFA+. On web streaming at least, I haven't installed the app or anything. Sorry stragglers. There may be a replay uploaded later
Pijnaker is by far the worst selection and Danny Hay is responsible for establishing him. I'm hoping Danny gets him to Auckland so he can sink or swim in an actual pro environment.

C'mon lads. Always love when the NZ lads get together for some tough games - regardless who wears the shirt. Looks like Baze wanted to keep the same 11 from the last match, and only change those out injured (wood, payne, bell)...
Was gutted I was unable to fit flights from London out to Cairo today for the game due to training, seeing that lineup, I'm glad I didn't waste my money (although going to Giza would have been super cool).
Thanks christ it was running late. Absolute palava trying to remmeber my fifa login and learn how to turn adblocker off. Quite a fan the white and teal kit I must say.
