Smeltz is actually sitting in behind Fallon and Killen and not playing his natural front running role. He may not stand out, but he is the one knocking the ball out to Lochhead to cross in. He is passing more with a lateral angle rather than a direct path to goal.

from what I've seen he keeps finding himself in offside positions and is having to backtrack.
