All Whites v Socceroos Match Thread

All the signs advertising the game around Melbourne are playing down who they're playing! Socceroos farewell game in big writing, and in much smaller font tucked away, Australia v New Zealand. And no one seems to care about the game! I'm wearing my All Whites scarf and people think I'm a Collingwood supporter!

Who's in town and up for a beer?

LOL at the scarves being confused with the Magpies (i.e. Collingwood/KP's team).

I have a spare ticket, my friend pulled out, would accept $20 AUD, which is half the ticket price

pretty sure there'll be a feed or two on justin.tv - i watched a couple of A-league playoff games on there, so would imagine someone will stream this.

if they are based in the US, then one source i found said the fifa.com website is showing it (but i have my doubts).

failing that, Radio sport online

I used this link to watch Winston, so should have the game and be okay for anyone.

http://www.atdhe.net/index.html

if there's any games on it'll show them on the main page where that link goes to..

I can't afford any all whites gear (and I doubt I can find any in Melbs) so will be the odd one out on Monday I think - may be forced to freeze my ass off in a white adidas t shirt

after reading/watching the news lately it's looking like

                                     Paston

                    Reid          Nelsen        Smith

                           Brown          Elliott

Bertos                      Smeltz/Mac                Lochhead

                       Killen               Smeltz/Wood

which is a very strong lineup imo, even if Smeltz misses out.

Quite rough on the Sea-monster and Vicelich, the above line-up.  We have 5 quality defenders, in fact, we're stronger in defence than anywhere else on the park so it seems a huge waste not to utilize it.

Jesus wept, as a Hawks follower, I can't imagine anything worse than being mistaken for a Pies follower.  But it would be lulzy if the All Whites adopted a fine AFL tradition and sang "Heading For The Top" in the changing rooms if they win.

I would even like to see Reid slot into Eliiot or Browns position. Reid, Wood and Smith have to start, and really hope Clapham gets on early in the second half.

Got tix for the all whites game in NZ section breaking the girlfriend into a proper football game finally hah she was keen as to come over.

Should be fooking awesome, and with those odds would be mad not to put a lazy tenner on the AWs!

Ricki already knows what Siggy and Vicelich can do, this game is about trying out these players in those roles, I also think Reid is gonna start over Siggy anyway tbh, unless we opt for a 442 then Reid will be the one pushed right, but even then Siggy will probably be behind Vicelich at CB. unless....

                                 Paston

                Reid          Nelsen     Siggy/Smith

                        Vicelich       Elliott

Bertos                   Mac/Clapham               Lochhead

                        Killen              Wood

But then you will say it's harsh on Brown..... unfortunately someone is always going to miss out, that is a good thing, plus what a bench is for.

Have to wonder why they selected Boyens, if they go with this line up. We have two players covering that back three, but how much genuine cover do we have for Lochead or Bertos? Really none for Lochy right?
