If you're in Christchurch, come and join us at the Speight’s Ale House (Full-screen55 Clarence Street, Riccarton) for prematch food and drink.  There will be drinks special (details to come) and a some few nibbles.

I got my white noise tickets after the Phoenix game cos they had a special and i just went on the ticketek website to look at whats seats are left for the white noise zone and they are still better seats than the ones I got....

Permalink Permalink

Ticketek website won't let you buy any tickets in the White Noise zone.  Says it's sold out/exhausted.

Actually the whole thing seems to be down now.

Forget I said anything, White Noise and the rest back up for sale.

It did that to me for the Auckland game too. Had to wait a bit before tickets were able to be bought again.

I assume they're not going to fcuk up the White Noise arrangements the same way they did for the Fever Zone a couple of weeks back.  About to take the plunge.

Edit: Done - White Noise, North C-9 J14.  Anyone nearby?

I know, I know, its serious!

Should be sweet. We asked to move the zone down to the corner. Only hallf the zone sold anyway.

Just bought 5 tickets. White Noise Row Q 22-26. Only 1 week to wait!

I see they have sold 4500 so far. Better than the 400 in total pre sales for the Auckland game.

Just realised that we have mid-week home games for both of the first 2 international breaks and no weekend games - and the last phase will probably be a dead rubber anyway.  How has that happenend, and how did NZF allow that to happen?

Exactly JD. A point I've already made a couple of times.

How hard did NZF try to get Friday night home games?

It's got nothing to do with the integrity of the draw either, simply the scheduling of the draw once it's been made.

The difference in revenue for NZF over two games is probably in the region of 10,000 bums on seats x $30 = $300,000

The draw was completely random, drawn out of pots, and the dates were scheduled before the draw was made. NZF had no input on when our home games were going to be. 2ndBest has pointed out to me that the Dunedin game is very unlikely to be a dead rubber, in fact it is likely that we will have the chance to seal qualification to the playoff with a win in that game.

Well then we should be trying to exert our influence so that it isn't done on a random basis (it really shouldn't be).  We have to operate a bit more politically, be a bit smarter - actually throw our weight around.

I agree, more people at our games means more exposure for the OFC and the OFC nations within NZ, which can only be a good thing for the development of the game in those nations.

Hmm, I'm not so sure the draw was completely random, since every team has a home and away game in each window, and this was well known before the draw was actually made.
The usual practice for qualifiers in Europe is for members from each association to meet after the general draw is made and arrange when and where all the games will be played at that meeting (ultimately the final arrangements are a result of compromises). Not sure if that procedure was followed here.

Good point, I guess it wasn't random then. My mistake. I can't find any official documents stating the stage 3 draw procedure anywhere, I could only find this which only documents the draw procedure for Stage 1 and 2.

Hi everyone, I'm exiled in the U.S. at the moment.  Can someone please rip me a recording of this match off the TV including the pre-match, half-time & post-match analysis, i.e. the full broadcast programme.  I'll pay for all expenses.  Thanks in advance.

Speights Ale House, good choice. Handy to the stadium too. 2B was the request to move the Zone before or after tickets went on sale. I'll be livid if I've been shafted again. I got mine quite early on in the VISA pre sales.

edit - Oh no nevermind I looked at the stadium map I'm good.

Whats the news on Reid and Nelsen...Is it likely they will be coming down for this game?

Hey guys! I've been lurking these boards for a little while but this is my first post. I'm passing through Christchurch on my way south and bought myself a ticket to this match in the white noise zone. Well, actually I'm making a point to be in Christchurch just for this game. I'm a voyageur (hardcore canadian national team supporter) and am no stranger to supporters' sections, so I'm looking forward to cheering on my adopted home in WCQ!

Is it cool for me to wear an all-blacks jersey to the game or would that be frowned upon? Don't have any all-whites gear but I could just wear something white if ABs gear is a no-no.

Generally would be frowned upon.

I can probably lend you an AWs shirt if you're a medium size.

Either way get down to Speights Ale house, 55 Clarence Street, Riccarton and introduce yourself.

Sounds good! And yes, I would appreciate the loaner!

What time will folks be populating the Speights Ale House.  I'm on a plane that gets into ChCh about 2:15.  Thinking of heading straight there.

Could be dangerous.
