That moment from Old says a lot. Steaming in on goal in heaps of room, should be unleashing a shot, instead slows down and weakly passes the ball over the goal line.

Well done Just for that cracker though.

Get the fuck in. Scoring in every match is something to take away.

Lots of dissapointment here that we are being outclassed by a top ten side.

But probably more so that we haven't been as well organized defending as in the past. But hey, there's no Ryan Nelsen helping the coach with that.

Just that tiny bit more time the Belgium players are giving us now and we score.

Not tracking runners again, the crosser or the scorer. We were never supposed to win this but we've embarrassed ourselves.

Surman for all the good he has done, has been poor with man marking. He leaves Lukaku at the absolute worst time.

Disappointing campaign but I'll take the fact that Just has to make a massive move after this - will be great to see another Kiwi playing consistently in a top league.

Well....not overly happy. But will have to just say All Whites did better across the 3 games then I thought we would. Yes there were very poor moments. But all honest I thought we wouldn't get any goals

For me, the saddest thing about this game is that it could be Wood's last game for NZ.

My favourite part of the game was seeing all the AWs ask the Belgian players for their shirts after getting reamed.

Apart from Wood. He looked pissed off, so no shirt for you!

Lusaka made a forward run, then peeled back. Surman followed the initial move, hard to react to the second. Bit harsh IMO.

JUST went from a 2million player to a 10 million player come end of this tournament.

No chance, he's talked in the past about wanting to make 2030. He'll be 38 then so no guarantees, but wouldn't put it past him.

potentially your right, potentially I am right, he's 34 and there isn't really any games for NZ that matter within the next 12 months. He has been injury prone and will be 38 at the next WC.

Hugely disappointing day all round. (Barring Elijah Just who can hold his head high) Defence at 6's & 7's, Belgium were trying to walk it in on numerous occasions. We could have easily held another couple - Chastening stuff.

Now let the post-mortem begin.

We simply cannot renew Bazeley for another four years. I think we showed progress during his reign, but let's face it, he's not taking us to the next level. I am however looking forward to seeing some fresh faces for the next cycle, and seeing the development of guys  like Stamenic, Bindon, Garbett, LBS, Bayliss, Randall, Surman, Gillion etc as they get more senior club & international football under their belts.

Finally from me - I never want to hear the term cultural architect when picking an All Whites squad ever again.

I'm extremely disappointed given what could've been...

But some of y'all need a good dose of reality to go with some weirdly inflated expectations. Some people here are harsher on the 85th ranked All Whites than you are the Phoenix. It's insane.

Personally, I will remember a generational performance against Iran and an excellent cup for Just.

I’m hoping that Celtic hasn’t already got Just’s signature.

Think he is better than the Scottish Premiership.

When he was moved more central in the second half, his work rate really stood out.

Putting the goals completely to one side, he is a gem of a player.

Staggering he was floating around the Austrian second tier a year and a bit ago.

bro he's a snake, checked out at the nix every time he got an offer from a bigger club, shouldn't even been in the 26.

The fact that some fans want him back at the nix is also a joke.

Between being overawed this match and losing our heads last match, I'm not sure our "cultural architect" was doing much.

Also might be time to wear black kits more, because we seem to be worse in white

Man you write some crap 💩

We need another coach for the next step in this team’s development

But their is a massive class difference today

See that corner where they counter after a brilliant soft touch and lay off from De Bruyne. Would have been a lovely goal if they had scored.
I dont think he means this match.

Rich to accuse someone else of writing crap when you've been rubbishing obvious criticisms of Bazeley for months.
Yeah I realise that, but I don’t agree we 100% beat Egypt and Iran with another coach in charge. Was just highlighting the level of other teams like the Belgians

Observer critised Bazeley pre game for not starting Thomas, when he had picked him to run on. Sorry but his posts are often Facebook level stuff.

Yipe some of the criticism of Dazza is for sure justified. It’s probably time for him to go, but getting a better coach is no fait accompli

They had an open application process last time and he was last man standing. Buckingham is the obvious candidate but can NZF afford his wages now, plus 3 years of friendlies then Samoa , Fiji and New Caledonia is meh for most coaches who live for cut and thrust of regular games that matter.

I agree, I just thought Thomas and McCowatt would have suited better than Singh and I admit to that mis-step.

I think we could have had six points coming into this match given how things went and if you asked pre-tournament what a good return would be for us, it'll probably be one point against an Iran team that have had many factors not go their way.

Going forward, I think Baze goes, but the thing that scares me is your last paragraph sums up the situation NZF is in and Baze gets two more years minimum.

If NZF wants to improve Football in NZ, wed should move to AFC and I've said this ever since the results of the 2010 WC.

We played some good football.

It appears half the people on here smoke football Crack and think we are a completely different team to what we actually have.

BAZE and the Nz side did well. Good football.

Iran draw nil all with 20% possession uptonthe red card. They didnt play footy they survived.

NZF is on the up. Enjoy it.

Bunch of depressive gits!

The major positive we scored goals something we struggled to do across the whole WC cycle otherwise against the bigger teams.

Lets hope our backline plus keeper is much better in 4 years

Ollie and Bev have been good on the TVNZ+ pre, half time and post game commentary.

As Bev says, two young CBs will be better come next WC. Just, clearly a talent.  A lot of players who will all mature for the next WC. And other younger players to come through and challenge for places over the next four years.

We're playing better footy to watch than Aus but without a result in the first two games this one was realistically over.  A bit too much defensive frailty.  Some poor keeping.  And we're gone.

Not good enough this time but we're more at the beginning of this generation than an end.
