Dude. After the warm up games and pre-Garbett’s injury there were quite a few people saying Singh wasn’t ready to start at the WC.
The teams that have been underdog darlings have had goalkeepers as their top performers.
Just as well Matty wasn’t there yesterday though. He might have taken one or two with him and we’d not only not be underdog darlings, we’d be the team that started a brawl with Mo Salah…
And I’ve even seen a lot of underdog stories about Egypt getting their first WC win…and not really focusing on the against us and extended format bit!
