You would probably only argue Ingham/Roux (Roux is better going forward and both are suspect defensively) and Lewis/Themi (Themi a bit more YC prone) but thats largely what we would see I suspect.

I do question if we are a little light in the engine room but he is essentially putting his best players out there. As someone else said, you could play a bus driver if you want as long as you get a result.

There’s an ambulance driver up in Auckland who could do a job.

All week I've been reading countless articles, reading and posting with you lot on the forum, researching the Peruvian squad, planning my Saturday and counting down every second... But I don't think its really hit me till now. This thing, that we have waited four years for, this David vs Goliath passion and optimism-fueled epic is TOMORROW. There is no part of coming away from this match with a result that makes sense, yet every time I think about it I get goosebumps and end up watching montages of the Bahrain game and our WC campaign. Tomorrow is what we live for as football fans, and we better bloody show it. Start getting hyped now, because we've got 11 Peruvians who need to be shown we're not just a Rugby nation. #COYAW!!!!

I am sure that the Peruvians know that we are not just a Rugby nation. (probably don't known what Rugby is) but they will know we are ranked 122 in the world in FIFA rankings.

FIFA rankings are bogus though, and are especially pointless as a barometer of a team in high stakes, high pressure games like these

Good luck from the other site of the globe...

Verbazing over Nederlandse mentaliteit: 'Kinderen met Louis Vuittons van 400 euro'

Baffled by Dutch mentality: “Children carrying Louis Vuittons worth € 400”

In our local paper today, losely translated:

PEC Zwolle midfielder Ryan Thomas is on the brink of a very important dyptech with Peru with a Russia-ticket at stake.

New-Zealand are clearly the underdog.Ryan Thomas: “when it boils down to technique we cannot compete with Peru. South-Americans are renowned fort heir technical skills.

Nevertheless, the Kiwi hopes his country can make a difference in the area of mentality.

“We have a working-class mentality, allegedly because we are a small country with a relatively short history. We need a high working-rate to achieve something”.

“Almost every soul grows up in New-Zealand with the mantra and belief that regardless what you do you have to work hard to survive”.

Ryan Thoms says this ‘never say die'-mentality is a far cry from the spoiled nature of The Netherlands.

“Children in expensive designer clothing of hundreds of euro’s are no exception. They just get it from their parents without any ‘quid pro quo‘ or consideration.

Thomas earned his first pocket money with chores at the age of ten.

“Even when I needed a new pair of shoes on my birthday I was restricted to a modest budget, allowing me to buy a pair for € 50 at H&M. Here they parade with Louis Vuittons worth € 400. My parents would never have paid that, because it makes one easy-going and lazy”

Really excited about today. Man, I do hope Reid, Wood, Smith and co play the game of their lives, Hudson proves all of us who criticized him wrong and we get a result. Something like a 1-1 draw would be enough for me. As long as we still have chances after the game, I'll be happy. As a fan I'm hoping for a 2-1 win but trying to be objective I think we will lose 2-0. COYAW

'Read Demands More'.

That's the main story on the Stuff sports section today.

That's Kieran by the way, not Winston (yes, I know, the pic pretty much confirms that). Nothing's changed much in NZ, ay? A WC play-off today at home and it's still the ABs doing the main rounds...

Surely it has to be at least 2-0 today if we're to be a serious chance of going through?

Of course no one knows for sure but that's just where my head's at right now. I can't see us going to Lima and defending a single goal or, come hell or high water, an away goal scored against us.

The only advice I can give is to make sure you remain in the same room as the TV, set an alarm for kick-off, and have the remote within arms reach.

The away goals rule always plays on everyone's minds. The 'Roos wouldn't be too upset with that result but will be nervy on Wednesday knowing the opposition score and it counts twice.

My fudgeing god. The Peruvian atmosphere is fudgeing fantastic. You can’t go anywhere in the central city without seeing ten or twenty fully clad Peruvians, rooting horns and chanting. Completely outnumber us humble All Whites, let’s show them what we’ve got at the game!

Thank you.  It's actually not on TV here.  And here isn't a remote backwater, it's (as Ron Burgundy would say) kind of a big deal.  Anyway. See you all in three hours.  We can do this, I'm F$£&@(ing excited!

Oh yeah, you can dream for sure. But that doesn't mean you should be disappointed if we manage to go to Lima only needing a score draw to see us through
