Brockie would probably be a better wingback option than some of the guys we have in those roles.

I know he hasn't played all his games as a striker for the AWs but he's played a fair few of them as a winger as well. And even if he was playing fullback 1 goal in 49 games is probably below par. Especially considering he was free kick taker for a big chunk of it, and has plenty of games against weak OFC opposition as well.

Anyway, of course I want him to do well for the AWs, I just wonder about the timing. Why didn't Hudson give him some game time in the squad and set up coming into this? Once again, Hudson's actions completely contradict the bullshark he spouts. He said everything he was doing from day one was building up to qualifying for the world cup, so why these squad changes right now? Why haven't Brockie and Fallon, and even Crocombe been in recent squads building up to this? Brockie hasn't played for the national side in a year, wasn't taken to the Confeds Cup, but gets brought back for these games? If Fallon is there as a motivational move, how come he hasn't been there in the last couple of friendly squads or the Confeds to try to help build team morale months out? Why was Doyle taken to the Confeds and Japan but left out now?
