I've walked out with mixed feelings about the result. I'm happy we're still in this and taking a 0-0 into the 2nd leg. I won't say it was more than I hoped for (I walked in hoping for a 2-0 win), but given I had my uncle on my left saying his prediction of a 0-3 loss was optimistic, and my father on my right making plans for a halftime departure if we were 4 or 5 down, I'll take it.

Peru dominated the game, we sat off them & let them play more than I expected (I thought Hudson was about the pressing game), but they didn't really threaten. In the first half, their best chance was created by Reid & Marinovic.

On our side, putting Kosta up front was a negative move by Hudson. I understand Wood was injured, but there are 4 other strikers in the squad. Surely at least one of them was selected for something more than the ability to down-trou a teammate at training or apple-pie his roommate's bed?

I'm not criticising Kosta, I thought he worked his socks off & did everything he could, but there were occasions when you could see he's not a striker.

By replacing Wood with Kosta, it seemed to me as though Hudson was doing exactly what Dave(?) had outlined in the Phoenix City podcast - hang on like grim death for 80 mins, then try & snatch it. I feel that the home leg is the one we should have been more positive in, and looked to get something from. Wood's cameo at the end, and the couple of chances we created then, simply left me wondering what might have been if we'd had a proper striker on for the full 90.
