Is it that perhaps Winston Reid and Tommy Smith have the same issue that Ryan Nelsen had for so many years - i.e. CBF dealing with the current coach?
Oops fat iPhone fingers. Didn't mean to endorse. Reid and Smith are both somewhat made of glass (esp Reid) and injury prone. I think they get on okay with Hudson. Smith undoubtedly had issues with professionalism of Herbert regime and NZF.
Let's face it they are really both 'imported Kiwis', born here but raised elsewhere. Neither are likely to live in NZ once their carers are finished. Wood has much stronger ties to NZ, and much better attitude to playing for AWs, whilst the other two will always have any 'injury' non availability questioned based on past form.
