Good lineup, on current form I would swap Jeremy Christie for David Mulligan though. I wouldn't mind seeing that team go up against the Socceroos one day soon.

I wonder if Ricki is considering any temporary signings to cover the players in the All Whites squad? Am i right in assuming he can do this?

No he is not allowed to. As Ricki said in a release, Branko at Sydney wasn't allowed to so fairs fair. Means the 3 young 'uns come in....

I see. Makes you wonder what would happen if next year against New Caledonia  we have say 8 players away with the All whites.  Anyone fancy a trip to New Caledonia next september?

With 8 out we'd still have 15 so no.

If we were down to below 15 with injuries I suspect we could sign short term (as long as we can find people willing and up to it).

I've got a question in with some Aus guru's on the subject.

Queensland Roar have signed a GK short-term because one of theres is injured. Other clubs I think have done this aswell.

So this is the  reason he didn`t select Moss and Paston for the All Whites. Would have only left Spoonley and no cover on the bench.

I would say yes because for the All Whites reserve he could pick any keeper in the country from Eaddy, Utting, Nicholson and Bannatyne. Looks like Bannatyne got the nod.

who would you have picked? utts is still the best but has retired several times over, adam highfield would be a better bet than most others on that list apart from jim

On the replacement topic, asked what Branko did with 5 out:

From Mikey - www.thefootballtragic.blogspot.com

A couple of state leaguers (including Michael Herbert, Olympic's French 'keeper) and some kid from the NSWIS, if memory serves. But they might have been injury cover rather than replacements for the various NT absentees.

Probably a bit far off yet but does anyone know if there will be a live radio stream of the Fiji game for us foreigners?

Why don't you think we'll see Nelson? Last I heard, he is back for Blackburn this week and was named NZ captain and the only overseas players out were Elliott and Bouckenooghe.

Just my opinion. Not based on any facts as such. Except I actually don't think it would be good for Nelsen to leave  England for 10 days to only be jet lagged at both ends in NZ and when he gets back to England. He will be taken away from his medical and physio team that know him best. It could all set him back further and aggrevate his injury.

Just have to wait and see I guess. Hopefully I am wrong.
