Hehehe, Clarke is on the radio saying that all this fiasco is soley Fifa's fault. She's now stepping into an arena she obviously knows nothing about and I think she should make a tacticle retreat asap  otherwise she might find her junket as UN president when she retires as Prime Minister in serious doubt.

The ultimate answer is of course Trevor Mallard. Why? Because as the Minister of Everything there are no doubts he'll poke his nose in once he gets over the disappointment of the AB's.

Mind you, since the Trevor Mallard Stadium on the Auckland waterfront was cancelled, the 800 million he promised suddenly disappeared. So when the Eden Park upgrade was announced, he said there was NO money available but that they "might" be able to make 150-200 million appear. But strangley as it gets closer to doing the upgrade, the silence from the Minister of Everything's office is strangely deafening.

Will Mallard be the answer to the football? Watch this space...... So far Peters & Clarke are confirmed arsholes, who's next? Oh and Banks was always one!

This government is too used to pushing sporting bodies around. Hardly surprising when they control the purse strings for just about every sporting body in New Zealand. But laying into Fifa on this one is a huge mistake. Fifa are bigger and more powerful than the New Zealand government. Ruffling feathers there will do Clark no good if she hopes to land some cushy job with her fellow socialist weasels at the UN after she retires.

Also, NZ are used to having their way with rugby - NZRFU say jump and the IRB say 'How high?'

Messing with FIFA is one battle that the NZ gov will come off 2nd best

FIFA always maintain you should keep politics out of sport - if only spending lip service to this mantra most of the time - but when petty Pacific politics interferes with FIFA's Oceania WC qualifying comp then it's not going to be happy.

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

if the government keep stirring this up, we'll find ourselves suspended from international competition like FIFA have to so many other countries sufering from political interfererance (admittedly in more trying circumstances) in the past.

rubbish.  That type of hyperbole adds nothing.  NZ Government aren't even close to the point where they will cause our suspension from international competition.  There has been no interference with the board or the running of NZ Soccer, simply an application of our immigration policies towards Fiji.
