Absolutely ...all recent NZF chiefs have been clowns , so running into one without a red nose and squirty flower must have been very disconcerting for him ....

BTW

Still nothing on Mr R Herberts new job .....whats the " old boys network " for ...if not this ?

Shurely ..." Extra Super High Performance Manager " hasnt been filled yet ....?

I don't think RH will be coaching any team soon, Also he did the U17 gig back in 1999 (I think).

Gonna ask for an interview for the pod sometime soon. What should I ask him?

Ask him some questions around the future of the ASB Premiership, e.g does it need a revamp?

Please ask him where does (Or doesn't) professional football belong in NZ and within the OFC (Club championships etc).

How do we bridge the pathway between ASB Premiership & the Phoenix.

How can NZ Football assist with ACFC's bid for an A-League license .

Who he thinks is in the frame for the All Whites coaching position.

What about the old AFC qualifying pathway chestnut? Has NZF taken part in any serious discussions with OFC/AFC about the OFC winner entering the final stage of AFC WC qualifying?

Was his departure from the UK and Barclays in any way related to Barclays involvement in the LIBOR rigging scandal.

On the back of the rumours of Arnold looking to do the Jets and AWs roles together.

1: Have interviews been conducted?

2: If they have, then you would assume that NZF have the independent report in their hands. When is that coming out?

3: If there have been no interviews, is this a head hunt offering him the gig or have NZF asked Arnold to apply?

4: If its a head hunt, you can bet this is not Andy Martin making the call as he is new to the landscape. Who is making these calls then? FDJ? FVH?

Just interesting questions if you assume there is some truth to the speculation.

Has Andy been to a fax-skills refresher course lately; or is he up to speed with that interwebby, appy thingy?
Are closer ties with Aussie high on his agenda - specifically: another A league licence, NYL, and even a winter NZ NPL that dovetails with Aussie NPL?
When is he going to introduce a South Island quota into national teams - jokes, ok? relax! ;)

Would he describe himself more as a single malt type of chap, or a Guinness drinker? And, so, what does he think of NZ.

By what process was Jose Figieroa given the job as Under-17 national coach when he wasn't one of the 3 interviewed prior to his selection (if this is true: see Under-17 thread).

'Banks: Fraud Officials to Quiz Barclays Chiefs'

The (UK) Serious Fraud Office is to question some former Barclays executives under caution as part of an investigation into the bank's fundraising from Qatar in 2008.

Bob Diamond, who quit as chief executive in 2012 over the Libor rates scandal, is on a list of a dozen individuals being questioned.

The executives are being questioned as part of an SFO investigation into allegedly corrupt arrangements with Qatar as the bank attempted to raise emergency funds in 2008.

Barclays alledgedly paid Qatar 322 million pounds in hidden fees to secure the Gulf State's support at the height of the financial crisis and to keep the bank out of UK taxpayer's hands. Qatar invested 4.6 billion pounds in the bank in two emergency fundraisings, in June and October 2008."

fingers crossed Andy  [Board Member & MD of Barclays Commercial Bank, June 2006 - Sep 2009; Member of Executive Board, MD of Global sales].

Hmmm, dodgy dealings with Qatar - I can't think of a single precedent for that in global football....

I guess he decided why start out with transparency when it's not going to continue. Perhaps he relied on FVH's advice. As I've said before - not impressed so far but still early days.

Well he did work for Barclays, a well dodgy bank with a proven track record of covering things up!

New Zealand Football chief executive Andy Martin joins the show to look at the All Whites’ current positioning in Oceania and the organisation’s view on getting New Zealand involved in the Asian confederation.

Just listened to this, One question missing was "What happens if we get drawn to play-off with CONMEBOL".

I think we all know the answer to that one (worst case scenario).

Signalling a shake up of InsertSponsorNameHere Premiership...

Mid-year, the creation and consultation around a refreshed blueprint for our national competitions structure is a vital piece of work as we aim to hit on the winning formula for our domestic game which will provide stable, sustainable products which appeal to everyone with an interest in this critical step of our pathway; from players and supporters through to sponsors and broadcasters.

Martins decision was absolutely the right one and I am glad they voted the way they did. Whether the execution in shouting your decision from the rafters was the right move, I think I said at the time it was not smart.

2+ year report card. Some starters...

NEUTRAL: Oversaw national league review (jury out); WeeNix in national league (personally I'm still uncertain about a development/youth team playing in top national league tier); appointed Hudson (I feel I'm being a little generous by marking it neutral at this stage)

PLUS: Got the national league on telly (though I'd be interested in the financial terms); took moral high ground by voting against Blatter, U17 and U20 boys got out of group stages of their World Cups

MINUS: Oceania relationship? Nix relationship? FFA relationship? (not sure on these three key relationships but place them here until further evidence presents itself), Oly Whites debacle, All Whites generally, player eligibility issues, Moss, Wynne, Jones, others, Futsal Whites failed to qualify for World Cup after heavy investment, Football Ferns failed to reach group stages after heavy investment, re-capitalising football through Beyond Football Plan (have any major new sponsors come on board in the last 2 years?) and plan to "re-position football" (LOL)
