Ok, so far the boys have had a pretty good tournament and done us all proud with their efforts. Some players particularly have stood out for me and I reckon have the potential to go pro.

Hogg, Has an engine to match locheads but more ability at dribbling the ball and a better right peg. Every major tournament he's played in that i have watched he has stood out and performed.

Hayne, good dribbler and looks like a real rm which is something we lack in NZ. Good strength and pace as well.

McGeorge, Very strong and reads the game well, gave away a howler of a goal, but other than that. Very good tournament to date. A pity he is suspended for the final game.

Spoonly, because he is class. Great reflexed and huge potential although has not shone this tournament.

Coombes - forget playing as a striker /attacking Midfielder, stay as an attacking fullback. Exceptionally quick, nice touches and pretyy handy at defending he has had a whale of a tournament and deserves to be looked at seriously.

TouchMe i agree with your thoughts on Hogg! He has been outstanding for us all season and even on the big stage he still steps up and performs wether it be for club or country!he is only 19/20?!  Ricky must seriously consider this boy who is a much better defender and attacker than Lochead.

Ive never been Spoonlys number one fan but agree with you again, another player who has had a good couple of games and may have caught the eye of some people in the stands.

Hayne is great once he gets going, City look dangerous in attack when he is on his game. He has impressed me also.

Chad has done very well and i thought he was superb first game even without the wonder strike. But someone did alert me to the fact he is erratic at times. I watched the replay and he must have given away 80% of the freekicks.

Still one game to go so we might be see some more top performers!

C'mon City

City do have a number of ex AWs in the squad, many who have been pros (Vichelich, Pritchett, Urlovic, Van Steeden (a player I've always rated) and Uhlmann) plus the likes of Jordan and Lee Ki-Hyung so its no surprise that they have performed and this experience is sure to rub off on the youngsters in the team like Spoons and Hogg.

Well done them.
Stunned the Congo team in the 4th and final minute of extra time with the winner, just as it seemed certain to go to a penalty shootout.
Classic last-gasp finish that rounds off a highly successful year for NZ football  on the various FIFA tournaments we've competed in.
Onwards and upwards for 2010 please.
