What is the minimum bet?

$1000 for AWs to lift the FIFA World Cup

Not sure if there is an option for "AWs to advance into second stage", but here are the odds for points in the first round:

0 points - $1.67
1 point - $3.00
2 points - $8.00
3 points - $7.50
4 points - $20.00
5 points - $200.00
6 points - $60.00
7 points - $300.00
9 points - $750.00

So put $8.50 on AWs to win cup, take out loan for $8.5K, go on YF SA Tour, come back and cash in your winnings at TAB, repay loan, = profit?

Should probably have been a Poll topic rather than an ordinary thread. Not sure if the mods can actually change it. If not perhaps close/delete and I can reform it.

A real gambler if you don't know who we are playing as yet in the group stage and throw in a gamble in any of the points.

I've never understood football betting, seems to taint  it some how.

10 bucks on 3 points could be  a good bet

I'm thinking 4 points is the best bet atm, but wait until the draw comes out.

Odds will change drastically when the draw comes out.

Anyone want to throw a lazy on 9 points?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I'm thinking $20 on 4 points, and $5 on winning the cup.

$10 on us winning the cup and pray to the football gods for a miracle.

A $5-10 bet on 3 points wouldn't be too bad a bet, depending on our pool of course.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

No need for a miracle, just a fit Ryan Ne..

never mind, carry on.

Shows you how often I take a punt huh?

So if NZ winning the cup is $1000, would that mean every $5 gives $1000, or is it still $1 to $1000?

yea odds are always listed as how much you get back per $1 so a mininum bet of $5 would return $5k

Any way this can be turned into a Poll on how many points people are picking for the AWs?

It would be interesting as people here seem to back the boys to WIN a game!

I don't know much about football but would take "any draw" in this campaign - are my sights set way too low??

I might suggest starting another thread for that?

I don't want to sound like a moderator though....

Otherwise, try editing the original post maybe?

Nah - Ukraine are ultra-defensive, that's why they don't concede many. Greece good on counter.

Tighter than a trout's arse.

its a tough one, Greece have more to loose than Ukraine. They may not have many fans there either because the tickets are $50-95 - a weeks waiges for them....anyway I'll put a 5a on NZ to win but to be fair betting on the  world cup you must put your head above your heart otherwise you will loose a lot of money...lets see who we draw NZ could take 4 points or ...0 depending on the group. Either way all I want NZ to do is score a goal so we can jump around a bit

Can't edit it and creating another thread might be disliked by the mods lol. Hence my mod signal :)

top scorer is always a fun thing to bet on. last WC i put $5 on Klose to be top scorer paying $20. after he scored two goals in the first game (vs costa rica i think, won 4-2) i was in with a shot. he ended up getting a few more and won won $100. not that much but better than nothing

PaddyPower has us at 750-1, and funnily enough Oceania at 750-1 to be the winning confederation Even North Korea are 500-1. Interestingly, Wayne Ronney's kid is at 150-1 to play for Evertn, 200-1 to play for United and 500-1 to play for Liverpool, all more likely than us winning the WC

bit bemused seeing us at $1000 to win when the next closest outsider was honduras at $300. pretty sure SA were $100 aswell which is rediculous

Put a lazy 10 on SA to win then, might come to form for the event.

North Korea odds on TAB lengthened to 500-1. We're still at 1000-1.

However....

We no longer have the longest odds on Paddypower!! We remain at 750-1, North Korea at 1000-1. Hurray!

Chris Killen 300-1 outsider for the golden boot. No odds on Smeltzy or Fallon, nor on Brown strangely.

Edit:
On further investigation, as well as N. Korea winning the WC, Paddypower are also offering 1000-1 odds on Bono being the next Pope

If I chuck $10 on NZ getting three points and we manage to get four points would I still get money?  Or would it need to be 3 points exactly?

Exactly

Will have to be one of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6

I'll probably put some on 3 or 4 for some value. For 0 or 1 you'd need us to in way over our heads (boo) AND you wouldn't get a great return on it.
