No Elliott, Henderson, Vicelich and Reid doubtful.

At a guess...

Moss
Boyens-Sigmund-Boxall/Reid
Mulligan-Brown-McGlinchey-Brockie
Killen-Smeltz-Wood

Gleeson, Paston, Fitzgerald, Clapham, Rojas, Barbarouses, Boxall/Reid

Why no Elliott, Henderson, Vicelich and Reid? Injured?

Scratch that last comment, I just saw this from the other thread.

Reid - groin - doubtful
Elliott - hammy - definitely out
Henderson - not recovered - heading home
Vicelich - sister's wedding on Saturday - not going to Aussie

sh*t.

Spare us from another Killen Smeltz Wood front three..I am so over that when we have fast nippy players sitting on the bench.  Kosta to start ahead of Wood for me...

Our defense is looking so depressing

I'm not concerned about who our front three are. If we can't get it right behind them it doesn't really matter. In saying that I expect a very different showing from the All Whites on Sunday than we saw today. We were completely outclassed against Mexico, but I expect us to at least hold our own across the park against Australia. At least I hope so!

I think Sky's coverage begins at 7, not the game - or maybe they just don't relaise the time difference with Adelaide is 2 and a half hours.

Kosta did start against Mexico and he was no great shakes.

Yep, because they had the pace to defend against him. I think he and Marco will be better suited to start against the Convicts

That looks so scary defensively! Has Paston ever played CB?

442 sounds more likely (about bloody time) with Siggy and Brockie/Fitzy as fullbacks outside Boxall and Boyens. Midfield of Wee Mac, Brownie, Brockie/Rojas and Kosta. Smeltz and Killen/Wood up front.

Its no longer a problem.

I would love to see Siggy put Grella on the deck. Revenge for THAT "tackle" on Leo. Convict scum

I think the fact people are happy about Boyens being at the back, shows just how dire things are in defense at the moment. Would be happy with Boxall in middle though, hopefully he can show Boyens what hes meant to be doing out there.

Anyone know how many All Whites fans are going to be there?

Quite a few heading over there.

Is Rojas sucking it up and playing?

I'd back Gleeson to do a job in the outfield, he's young and nimble so give him a half up front for the lols factor.

Im surprised that anyone thinks that Boyens is a footballer....dire straits when he is a first choice

I hate seeing Boyens in an All Whites kit more than I hate...Aussie Rules, and man I hate that sh*t.
still have nightmares about him vs Spain at confederations cup

Agree with those calling for Kosta with a K - he'll cause us more issues than whomever he replaces (Wood or Killen?) due to his pace IMO. We're not exactly quick.

Things look pretty dire for AWs though. Bad day for NZ football if both Mulligan AND Boyens are in the starting 11...

I think Mulligan is ok when in a position where he can't be isolated in 1-on-1 situations

think its time to lose the 343 - we get exposed way too much without Mr Nelsen guiding the way

but this game isnt the time to do it i guess. Especially with the quick turnaround.

In the case of woodsy, i think he should always be central in a front three. Would be the best for me.

I think the future of a front three of him with marco and Kosta either side would be very strong in the next 4-8 years.

With wee mac in behind, it creates quite a strong young attacking quartet.
think perhaps a 433 brisbane roar-esque would serve us well in the future, just need some younger holding midfielders to sprout up from some EPL reserve side...

Australia is in a re building stage .. No Cahill, No Kwell along with heaps of others... maybe only Lucas Neil, Holman, & Jedi from our normal run on squad ... many spots up for grabs..

Massive pressure is building from the U 20 side in particular, the U 23 team as well ... more than likely maybe only two or three player from 2010 will be in the 2014...

Our best seem to be our U 20 and there have been some we are told ... not by name ... but some who will be fast tracked from the U 20's into the Socceroos...

You guys must be in a similar place and with Rojas & weeMac you have some real ball players who can hold a ball as weel..

Should be a great game... Midfielder2011-06-03 20:12:57

Think future - Woods, Coasta and Rojas have to play!

Kosta and Rojas aren't up to it yet, in my opinion. Wood is a different story.

Seeing Boyens in the starting line up makes me cringe. I have never seen him have a game where he doesn't make or almost make a goal-giving mistake. I would even rather see Old in there instead of him.

It's unfortunate our backline is so weak at the moment because I think we'd give Aussie a good shake if we could build from the back. With what we've got now...I can't see it happeningvaleo2011-06-03 22:54:12

I am so excited for this game, I think we have a real chance at winning it. Would like to see us score more than one goal, I can't remember when the last time we scored 2 goals in one game was.

I like how the order of the forums has been changed to have the All Whites ahead of the Nix, nice touch mods!

Lot of Boyens hate here from his performances against Spain and Aussie. Fair enough.

He has though been playing a lot recently, is in good form and let's be honest, didn't have that bad a game against Mexico. He was also in the defence with Siggie against Wales.

Think he deserves another chance.

Boyens is just not up to it mate. A blind man can see that. Maybe he's better playing in a 4-4-2.
