OFC winners still automatically qualify for Club, U-17, U-20 World Cups, Olympics, Confederations CUp (also in women tournaments)
and OFC winners can play in Asian Cup finals & World Cup AFC Final qualifiers

maybe more ideal for NZ...

they can qualify for worldwide tournaments easily and they can play more official matches with Asian sides

then ......

Year 1- Asian Cup, U-17,U-20 World Cup
Year 2 - World Cup OFC Qualifying, Olympics
Year 3 - World Cup OFC Qualifying, Confederations Cup, World Cup Asian Final Qualifying Round, U-17,U-20 World Cup
World Cup Year - World Cup?

I don't think so, but the Copa America allows countries from other regions to compete:

Since 1993, two teams from other confederations (usually from CONCACAF, as most of its members are geographically and culturally close to CONMEBOL's members) are also invited. So far, the invited teams have been Costa Rica (1997, 2001, 2004), Honduras (2001), Japan (1999), Mexico (1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2007), and the United States (1993, 1995, 2007).
