Had a nice practice last night when i was singing it at College prize giving, and must say probably helped since i was a bit average on the Maori part, so if you think you know it make sure you really do!

I really don't care if it's in Maori, English, or even Korean - JUST MAKE IT LOUD.

Thanks for that link - quite goosebumpy for my cynical self.

In the related videos from your link there is the Stevo version with subtitles:

Was going to say passion. But the message "pass on" is also relevant. So tell those sitting next to you at the game to belt it out.

Lets be proud kiwis.

Always find it quite sad that, when it's played, everybody seems to mumble through the Maori part then it takes off when it comes to the bit in English.

Learn the whole thing fellas, and let it rip!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

makes me proud of my Irish heritage, If we can emulate that, it will probably be  the proudest moment in NZ sporting history.

If we could get even half as good as that Ireland national anthem i would be stoaked.

I really think the crowd has a chance to make people in this country take notice. All you hear from rugby games is how the anthem was sh*t and it needs to be change. If 35,000 could sing with absolute passion, and show that the anthem is good if its sung right.

Got me all patriotic

Whole thing? They're two different anthems in different languages that happen to be sung one after the other.

Generally it's only this much sung isn't it ?  Same as we don't belt out all 300* verses of the English version.

*300 may be an exageration.

Forgive me, I do apologise. Shall I rephrase it then:

Happy now? Sheesh.

I am white as anything, but i still prefer the Maori verson better.  Hopefully we can have a massive anthem. That will really set the scene.

And hopefully people are respectful during theirs, no booing or whistling

Are we going to be told we have to do all the chants in maori first and then in english?

that was the only disapointment for me. I wasn't sure if we were gonna do both and ended out sinnging first half maori last half english.

would love to hear it on tv as it must've sounded pretty good anyway.

I wish we had known that it would only be done in english.
Pretty bad/funny to hear all the versions

I thought we only had the Maori version?  I could only just hear it a little bit at the start so I assume it was the Maori version as the two verses fit snugly with what music we could make out.

As far as I'm concerned it should have been sung in both languages.  But if only in one you'd expect it to be English.

I was watching on tv and it was awkward - some people singing maori and some people english

What a botch job - like you said, the only disappointment.

At any event where I have been that the anthem is sung , as far as I can recall it has been sung in 2 verses. Probably been that way for, what, 5 years plus?

So I would say that 34,100 people on Saturday night were expecting the instrumental to play twice (ie. two verses). For those 34,100 to not be somehow informed that it would only be played once for one verse was one of the minor blots on the evening.
