I'd prefer if we stayed away from anything that is played at an All Blacks game. Those invariably end up being giant karaoke session for 80's and 90's kiwi pub classics which, in all honesty, have nothing to do with any sport. I've nothing against the songs at all, but in that context it doesn't do it for me.
It's great that by the end of a rugby match blokes have sunk enough beer to muster up the courage to sing "Forget about the last one, get yourself another" in public, but football fans can, and do, do better than that. As long as everyone's up for it, like they should be for this, there's no need for musical interludes at all during the match. Unless it's a specific All Whites one of course...

Needs to be simple so that the vast majority of the crowd can pick it up after a few goes.
I mean "Stand Up for the Phoenix" is relatively simple and it falls apart by the time it gets to Aisle 24/25...

Us Kiwis arn't a very patriotic bunch are we. At rugby games etc you don't normally hear the whole crowd singing etc. i just hope that the whole crowd are in full voice especially at the start for the national anthem. It would definately put the tingles down the players and get them fired up for the game.
Agreed. as least get the YF boys in full voice thru the whole song. Personally i think its not a great anthem but get a big strong crowd singing it and it'll sound great! I'll be there!

Why not 'God Save the Queen'? It's been our National Anthem much longer than the one they normally drag out (twice!). It's more stirring to boot.
