If enough people complain about tvnz's Olympic coverage something may change. Or at least send a message for the future. Don't just sit back.

You might want to check this page out before you run for the phones:

If you have a look you will find that both TV One and TVNZ Sport Extra are avaliable as streaming video. Therefore if you have a decent internet connection you will be able to watch the NZ v China game online :)

however if we dont have freeview and dont have the data plan to be throwing away on a match, what are we supposed to do? i am really ticked off considering the men and woman are doing better than expected, would be a joy to watch. i assume if we do get coverage on 1 it will be a little 20 minute highlight show. dissappointing!

not good enough!

despite your refrain  - freeview and web-based coverage excludes 100s of thousands of (if not a million plus)  new zealanders

this does not  align with my motivation to get a fair crack of the whip for all football fans (urban or rural, rich or poor)

in a demeocracy i think we can expect thestate broadcaster to respond to the public's expressed wishes

And TVNZ had this on their site - http://tvnz.co.nz/content/1978775

Time to get behind NZ football
with the comment...
Here are two national teams about to embark on the world stage and fly the flag for New Zealand in a prestigious FIFA recognised competition, so New Zealand should get in behind them.

Eh?? Some irony there...
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

irony - perhaps

weasel-faced hypocrisy - i think so

mumble  mumble mumble

TVNZ - fast becoming the reason I'll consider voting National for the first time in my life (then again, National probably has  a higher proportion of conservative sports neanderthals than any other party - so that'll take a bit of thinking about)

my loathing of TVNZ is becoming irrational! but why are they so f'in useless compared to TV 3??

rrr grrrr  @#%

sort it out TVNZ

Tigers have you rung their wellington office and complained to someone in person? Ask for their sports reporter, that way they can't ignore you and it will give you someone to vent on

Well done Hard News, you've outed me (I think you can assume by my login name that I'm not really trying to hide). You could have done me a favour and picked one of my better reviews :P, while we're throwing links around I quite liked this one:

but to be serious and save my skin in case someone higher up at the company checks these forums. I write the odd article but I am in no way a decision maker, my views and actions on here are no way representative of my employer. I also will not be answering any questions on here to do with my employer so please stick to the normal channels should you wish to make enquires.

My actions were more that of a fellow Football fan trying to offer a solution to his bretheren. I hope some of you did benefit from knowning that there was a method for you to watch the game.

Speaking purely as a Football fan, I would have liked the game to be on TV ONE myself.

That said, there has been a whole heap of moaning on here in the face of a possible solution.
What did you do before everyone had sky tv? you found a mate who had sky

In my case, my home internet connection is not fast enough to sustain the stream so I was back into work to view the stream over the net using the company's fast internet.
A small journey to make in the end to see one of the greatest New Zealand football games in my football watching lifetime.

I assume that's a wellington pub, I live in Auckland. I would have liked to have watched this with some like minded folk but alas it was just me, myself and I.

Sweet. I dont mind if you bag TVNZ policy as an employee or in a personal capacity, just that you do. But, it does give me added satisfaction that you are an employee. Please feel free to give your boss tremendous grief, only as a football fan of course.

You mean there weren't loads of football fans at TVNZ getting together to view the match?

Why am I not shocked?

Fair play to you though for popping on here to comment.  It's as close as TVNZ have got to getting in touch with football fans, ever.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I sent them an email complaining about their poor coverage in general. They sent me back a link to a website that would answer some of my concerns. It was to one fo their sites that I complained about . Ive just sent hem another email telling them what muppets they are and how glad I was they havent got he rights to the next Oylpmics and that if they hate sport so much they should stick to showing out of date episodes of Coro St as that is all they are competent do.

A dog with a bone :)

im not to hacked off about there general coverage, it isint to bad(although the rowing commentator gets a bit too excited, i mean its only a bloody heat!) however i am hacked that all i got too see of the ollywhites/football ferns was a crap little highlight package. i mean sure, your average sports  fan would only want too see a little bit, but really, replays of border patrol vs olympics coverage? im not too sure about the number of people (if any) who stay up to see replays of border patrol, but im sure a lot more people would stay up to see the footy. i think they are going to be showing all of the ferns vs norway in about ten minutes, ill be watching, but what happens when the more exciting(to the general public) sports are on when the footy is on. more little crappy highlight packages!

I saw 10 minutes as well plus 80 minutes of adverts. I did a rough timing of the actual coverage earlier in the day at at one stage it was about 5 minutes of Olympics and 6 or 7 minutes of ads, I know they have to pay for coverage but thats ridiculous. Roll on 2012 and 8 Sky channels dedicated to olympics
