I dont think the Bahrainian players showered themselves in any kind of glory last night, really poor sportsmanship and their behaviour on the pitch was disgusting HOWEVER  the fans were a different story. Mr Bahrain you have been a credit to your conuntry on these forums and your fellow countrymen that came over for the game were wonderul.
Thank you for your contribution to one of the great days in our countries history!

All of the Bahrainian fans that I met were very friendly and keen to exchange a few words with me! I hope they qualify next time around!

I thought it was a bit weird, that the Bahrain team didnt come over to clap their away support after the game.

I agree, but NZ seemed to go straight to them to start with which I thought was nice.

Mr Bahrain, you are the best!! It really breaks my heart that Bahrain has to suffer losing the final qualifying game twice in a row. I will definitely be cheering for you for the next world cup, insha'allah it will be your time to qualify. Thank you for coming to our forum, your posts always made me smile, I too hope you will stick around. Cheers! :)

I felt sorry for all the bahraini supporters at home, but specially at the game. Because after the game me, my dad, my brother and my cousin were walking next to a bahraini supporter and all these drunk NZ supporters were taunting him and he looked so upset i felt sorry for him.

My friends
I thank the good feelings towards Bahrain.
It's great to be name of my country in your memories over the years.
As I promised earlier, I am just a sample of the masses of Bahrain, sophisticated audience,  aware, educated , we accept the loss in the spirit of sports, four years ago we did not despair after  Trinidad and Tobago game, and now also,  our team will develop further.
We have a game after two days with Yemen, if we win , we will ensure qualification to the Asian Cup. http://www.the-afc.com/en/afc-asian-cup-2011-schedule-a-results

We will stand with our team more strongly, and this football, can not give up

Thank you for all wonderful responses , I love you

Amazing post, mate. I could never do that if we lost. Have no animosity towards you guys at all even though a few of your players rolled around a bit too much. Being gracious in defeat isn't an easy thing to do. Good luck next time - i'm sure we'll both be there in 2014!!

Class. Utter class. This is what games like these are about (well, okay, not entirely). But the chance to meet wonderful people and share the love is incredible and a chance for two nations to become friends. You're always welcome in our country! As valeo says, see you in 2014, mate!

Glad to see that there are still some good sportsmen in this cynical world of ours.

Thank You Mr. Bahrain for being so gracious in defeat, I hope that I could have been so honourable if the game had gone the other way. You are a credit to your nation and your team.

I wish you good luck against Yemen, and also for your future World Cup campaigns.

Mr Bahrain - thank you for the lesson in humility and grace. Bahrain's turn will come - no doubt about that - but for the moment our delight is your despair. May we all follow your example when the cards don't fall our way.

Kia kaha, kia toa, kia manawanui - be strong, be bold, be steadfast and sure.
