Another young kiwiw has laneded a contract overseas Andre Milne with Glasgow Rangers.

So who else is out there, from knowledge un20 players are,

Chris Wood - West Brom
Cameron Lindsey - Blackburn
Michael Fitzgerald - J League (forget the team)

And by memory we have another kid trialling at Aston Villa.

Good to see some of our youngsters getting noticed and picked up. Add in Costa and Drapers as u20 players and its starting to look like a promising future should they all reach their potential.

Also i am going to add Hogg, because i am quietly confident he will get a contract overseas and he's still only 18

Lance Heslop's deal with the Villa Academy fell apart as he couldn't get a work permit.

Mario Hoffman - J League
Mikail Bredeveldt (sp ?) - Germany

Kayne Vincent (although he now uses his Japanese surname) is also at a J-League side.  Darren Brown has left Rostok and was rumoured to have a trial lined up at Blackburn as well.

There are another half dozen at US-Colleges of various ages who are mainly there as work permits wouldn't get them in to europe, plus a big group all UNder-20 heading to a US College recruitment tourney at the end of the month.

That nasty huh? Surely we could get our minister or sport to try and open some international doors for us!!!

Personally i'm convinced i'm going to have to marry my way into a european family just so I can get access to europe properly!!!

We really do need a nix youth team... all these young up and comers who can't get a break because of Visa issues.

hmm how to get around it...

Spragg to legally divorce his parents and become a ward of the state in England allowing him to pursue his football career at Villa.

Hi all,

The above page on my site details all known overseas-based NZ male players. There is a separate link to the overseas-based NZ female players, plus a couple of other pages which may be of interest.

I'd appreciate receiving any info to update it when possible, please, and a confirmation source (e.g. club website) where possible, so progress can be monitored, etc..

Thanks,

JR

Nice one Scouse. Always interesting to see.

Not to be picky but it would be great if you could include, age, preferred position, which team regular(i.e. first, reserves ,youth) Also whether they are eligible or have there current allegiance to NZ.

I realise you may have to give up your day job for this, but its worth it right ;)

If we build it, they will come...

That's all peripheral detail, LondonChris. It's challenging enough establishing their whereabouts to start with, never mind gathering non-essential info such as is contained on your wish-list.

Cheers,

JR,

Some of these you know, but:

Darren White has been released by Hansa and Michael White is no longer at Rhyl (Euro FM researchers).

Aaran Lines has a green card and has moved back to the states and given up playing (club contact).

Stuart Kelly moved to South Melbourne (email from him)
Drapes never went to Victoria

Costa and Burgess are back home

Tommy Smith is back at town (played the opener against Preston)

Sammy Jenkins packed in Santa Barbara.

There are 18 ? heading to a US College recruitment tourney next week.  I'll let you know if anyone gets picked up out of that.

Great stuff ScouseKiwi,

I miss the occassional rounds they had on the nzsoccer site about who was where and doing what.

Unfortunately, its not a very long list.

Hard News, the messiah of information, Michael McGlinchy, the youngest ever player to play for Celtic, how old is he now and has he decided who his allegience is towards yet? I know Ricki was trying to coax him over.

Thankyou DRX and Le Tiss - I'm updating Ultimate with that info as I type.

That's the problem with these sorts of lists - keeping tabs on individuals when they move on.

Johnny Foundoulakis is a classic case - I haven't heard of him in ages. Would any of our Wellington Olympic friends be able to shed some light on what he's up to these days, playing-wise?

He's been released from whatever club he was at in Greece and re-appeared in the NZ playerbase in FM... doesn't mean he hasn't found somewhere else.

<!-- The content cell -->Another one.  Moses Petelo - Rochedale Rovers - Brisbane

Johnny is no longer playing. After several knee ops has decieded to give it away.

Does anyone know how good Nathan Knox is, he's always in FM and becomes a solid striker for NZ often being picked up by Knights / Phoenix depending how recent your version is.  I've always wondered why he's never been seen anywhere near the AWs at any level.

White may still re-sign for Rhyl in Wales : see Rhyl website

As at 15/07/08: "Stories of White going 'missing' and losing interest in the club have been dismissed by the player...White explained he has undergone a complex nose operation during the summer which ha sled to him needing more recovery time than expected..."It's just a case of getting fully fit and then having talks with the club." "

Stuart Kelly broke his leg playing for South Melbourne several months ago and returned to Christchurch where he has been coaching Woolston-Tech in the Mainland League for a couple of months. He will probably turn out for Canty in the NZFC.

Bouckenooghe has been released by Red Star Waasland in Belgium's Tweede Klasse and has signed for the semi-pro provincial league club, Club Roeselare (not to be confused with KSV Roeselare in the Jupiler League).

I also, completely accidentally, came across the whereabouts of former All White, Tinoi Christie. The former Central United player is now with Hillingdon Borough in England. Hillingdon are located just by Heathrow Airport, West London, and play in the Ryman League Division One North. Small world...
