Lets make This a blanket rule..
If you are supporting England be underneath the south screen in the sun.
I am bringing my trombone so If anyone has any requests for things I should play get them in here by 2pm today and I will work on them.

Also..
If anyone can get their hands on drums big or small.. Feel free to bring them along.

2 things:

1. Isn't this game kicking off at 1pm? Just so some don't trun up an hour early...

2. The forecast for Sunday ain't flash, so don't think you have to worry about the sun News.

Supersonic may be impossible to play on the trombone.
I have got my hands on a snare drum and 3 very nice marching band hats.

Why does brazil get to have all the fun?

Brazil/England/ whoever - everyone bring everything on Tuesday night for the NZ game so they'll get backing they'll never forget. They deserve it.

For now - its time to deal to the Danes.

Good luck to England and Brazil tomorrow as well - its gonna be a nice sunny day...Gordihno2008-11-01 15:31:02

I am a bit concerned about the instruments thing, stadium website says they're prohibited.

Seeing as its a Sunday, are there going to be thousands of screaming pre-adolescants there again, or will it be just the couple of hundred die-hards?

LOC = local organising committee in case anyone isn't as big a nerd as News.

If anyone is taking an instrument and is worried then PM me and I'll give you my number in case you have any prob getting in.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

yeah shame about all the kids enjoying themselves and perhaps thinking about taking up football- wish there was only the die hard fans there-the ones who really get football

are you for real?

actually that atttitude really f**ks me off-its the sort of that attitude that will consign soccer as a fringe sport and deny nzl future top level tournaments.

if i had had the opportunity to wathc that sort of football when i was an adolescent i would have been stoked and probably stayed with the game through my youth, rather than deserting it.

get over it- adolesents enjoy sport too, and enjoy the social side, the noise and the colour.

the atmosphere was brilliant last Thursday, thanks in large part to the kids who really got in behind their 'teams'- 'die hard' fans are probably too uptight to get passionate about supporting a neutral team.

Salmon07, the noise those kids made last thursday was impressive, even if it was high pitched. It sounded damn good to hear at a game though.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Finished 1-0 to England but Nigeria dominated really. That English back four are very strong (and lucky).

Decent crowd?

Around 5,500 for the first game and about the same for the second.  Probably a couple of thousand change between the two but similar numbers.

Number just my guess, no idea on the official ones.

Late game was 2-1 to South Korea over Brazil.

You need to learn to read.

Nowhere did I say they shouldnt be there, I was only asking if they were going to be there FFS.

Actually , my view is always that the stadium should be full even if it means minimal entry fees.

point taken- my apologies, i hope you get my point though. many people may think that the screaming teens are not there for the footie and thats a problem, but i think a full stadium is a full stadium

it was like when the LA Galaxy came and i heard people complaining that rugby fans turned up just to see Beckham

whatever gets them through the gates to start with is good, if the football is good they'll come back

________

lots of kids there today- i thought the crowd number was generous tho'

I was thinking more around the 3000 mark for both games. Which is still pretty good

Crowd tallies for the day (totals for both games combined):

Hamilton - 4115
Wellington - 6471

Unlike previous days, there was no game-to-game split.

Cheers,
