Just saw on the NZ football website, the Football Ferns beat PNG 2-0 so, given NZOC permission, will be off the the Olympics in August. Yay!

The Olly-Ferns should get the nob. The womens game here has improved so much in the last 3 years that to be denide a olympic spot would really sux.

No PNG haven't qualified, we have. If the NZOC doesn't allow us to go then nobody from OFC goes.

spend thousands of dollars on sending these players for what cause??
better off giving nz soccer the money so they can start televising nzfc games or put it in2 something worthwill other than watching us go to another tournament and watching us score one goal (if were lucky)

America's Cup? WTF is that - I'd never heard of until I came to NZ and heard it was how NZ was spreading its name to the world.... 
You could take a fraction of the money given to Team Emirates and it would be more than enough to cover the Olympic trip.

If we use that as an excuse not to send the team over, then I doubt we'll ever be in a position to send one. And what message does it send to potential players - they're hardly going to bother answering a call-up to an Olympic qualifying tournament when there's no reward for doing well. If we try and penny-pinch now, we'll be paying for it for years.
