I'm excited to see how Heraf handles a Kiwi team to be honest. My ideal replacement for Hudson
Football Ferns

"New Zealand Football's newly-installed technical director, Andreas Heraf, has taken charge of the team for this trip, alongside Football Ferns Development Programme head Gareth Turnbull, and both are familiar faces - Heraf was with the team in the United States in September, while Turnbull was with them at the Rio Olympics last year, and knows many of the squad through the FFDP."
Possible AWs audition now for Heraf, if he's interested in the role?

Why would taking a team ranked 19th in the world that has made the last 3 World Cups & Olympics and has a very realistic chance of making the next World Cup and Olympics be an audition for taking a team ranked 122nd in the world and with not a great chance of making the world cup?
Live stream for game here
Full replay of the Thailand game available here (official Thai FA stream)
Starts at about 2 hours (game time counts backwards) or 36 mins if you hover over the time bar:
https://mycujoo.tv/fa-thailand?id=11165
Thailand wearing an all black strip and us all white is interesting.
They have a log of major game events on the right of the screen - I love "77' Crazie (in), Amber (out) (New Zealand)"
Do we really have a player called "Crazie"? That would be cool !!!
The second game will stream on the same site on Tuesday at 11 pm NZT

I'm guessing it's
"Katie" Rood, who came on as a sub around then.
what could have been?
John Herdman doing well in Canada

Great to see Erceg and Gregorius back for the Ferns in the squad named today to play Scotland next month:
https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/nz-teams/10...
Actually, Gregorius coming out of retirement seems to me more of a surprise than Erceg.
Riley retains the captaincy.
Our strongest squad for a long time:

Scotland won 2-0, Ferns hit the post twice, Heraf says Scotland were the better team and deserved win
I'm happy as being a Scottish Kiwi I can't lose on this one!

If I remember correctly we beat them last time we played them as well, 3 - 2 or 4 - 3? It was a close one anyway. Fairly close in the FIFA rankings so there shouldn't be much between them.

3-2 last year. NZ ranked 19th Scotland ranked 23rd - think it is more how much Scotland has improved in recent times - helped heaps by putting a bit of money in to the women's national league there
Wow great highlights. The game was played at high intensity by the looks of it. Unlucky not to score one, especially after that great move off the corner kick which resulted in us hitting the bar.
Announcement at 8pm on a couple of Ferns' home games.
Cool - be great to go watch them. Always enjoy watching the Ferns on the telly (when their games are shown), so definitely keen to see them at the RoF!
OMG!! We got Japan to come down and play in windy wellington. Actually cant wait. Hope we get somewhere near the crowd for the Peru game.
So excited for this! Heard ticket prices will be reasonable too
I'm told the record home crowd for a Ferns game is 5,000 back in 2007. Tickets apparently $15 for adults and $5 for child. If Capital Football flag women's football for that sunday then I reckon we should be able to break that.
I'm excited for this. Hoping to time an upcoming trip back to family in Kapiti to catch the game aswell!
Would be a awesome if a few of the FFDP with Welly roots get given a chance. Would create a bit of a buzz if they did!
and now this
New Zealand Football announce parity for Football Ferns and All WhitesThis is great news. Some of the reaction to it has been disgraceful, even on Reddit which is meant to be friendly towards this sort of thing had people moaning about 'equality isn't fair if people watch the men more' and rubbish like that.
I'd love for the All Whites to be a top 50 side and challenging some of the best in the world, but realistically that isn't going to happen anytime soon if ever. Our women on the other hand are capable of matching it with any side in the world and need to be supported financially so they can continue this success and hopefully make a world cup second round and beyond one day.
Great to see NZ football getting so much good publicity around this announcement, with both TV channels devoting a chunk of time to the story. TV3 even led their 6pm bulletin with it.
Really excited about the game at home. Have great memory of the women's U16 (?) WC held here a few years ago and will be making this a family outing for sure. $15 per adult isn't too bad...when will tickets be available?
It would be cool if they updated this every so often:

Buzzing about this and already booked the day off at work.
NZF should be marketing the hell out of this, especially on the back of the goodwill generated this week with pay parity.
Japan: former World Champions, played in last 2 World Cup finals, winners of last 2 Asian Cups; it can't be that hard to promote, can it?
There's even the obligatory rugby tie-in for TV1 & Radio Sport - Japan are one of 4 nations to win the World Cup (just like the All Blacks), and the won the World Cup in 2011 (just like the All Blacks)
Fun Fact: the Football Ferns are also former Asian Champions, having won the first tournament back in 1975 (thanks Wikipedia)
Interesting listening to radio sport and how they are calling out the pay parity as spin just because players aren't centrally contacted like rugby. Seems like the rugby crowd are getting a bit salty about the publicity.

Apparently, not too well according to many players
How can NZF afford to pay for renting out the stadium for this match? Using the money the All Whites made from the Peru game?
NZF wasting funds again.
That's a terrible take.
Tickets on sale.
http://premier.ticketek.co.nz/events/FOOTBALL18/ve...
$16 for adults. $6 for u16s although free with an adult.

Ever heard of Japanese television rights and how many people in Japan watch their womens team?
Just checking that row V is the one at the back (not A) - as I want to get covered seats in case it rains :) Cheers
Is the white noise gonna be there as usual?

Just bought 3 tickets...PAX229..... hopefully they ramp up the marketing on this one!
Big thank you to Capital football for postponing/moving times of games to allow players to make the game! We've organised for 3 of the VUWAFC women's teams to be coming along in groups, hopefully other teams make the most of the changes as well. Should be a great game!

That's a bit rough mate.At least they are hosting a game something we have bagged them for in the past for not providing home games.
Wasting money was sending barristers etc. to The Islands to appeal when they got caught cheating at the Olympic qualifiers. That would have cost mega bucks and it was an appeal they were always going to lose.
This may fall at an unfortunate time for me, but if I can, Ill be super keen for this.
Haven't seen the Football Ferns live before.
