What's your opinion on Frank van Hattum replacing John Morris as NZF Chairman

It all depends on who they select as Chief Exec because that will define the direction that they are intending to head in.

Both jobs are about as tough as it gets in NZ sports administration.

good to see he was down for the game. I think he was a bit gutted he ran into his nephew.
He seems like a straight-shooter which is a good thing

I'm obviously going to be construed as biased being an old team mate of his, but Frank isn't there for the 1st class airfares nor is he a yes man. Pennies will be watched and expenditure controlled. Good sensible governance really. Just what's needed.

Overall I think Frank's done a good job over the 5 and a 1/2 years. Definitely leaves the game in a better state than he found it.

I few significant gnarly issues remain though so probably not a bad time to pack it in and let someone else have a crack. It's especially important that the new Chair can build a relationship with the new CEO right from the start.

Surely those baying for change at NZF are happy now? New Chair, new CEO, new All Whites coach. That's actually makes me a bit nervous.

To be honest, we should probably expect a reasonable amount of continuity at Board level because the new Chair will be elected from current Board members. The Federations will then elect a new Board member at the Congress in May.

From having ambitions to get onto a FIFA committee to this. Very much a 180.

So we get a new CEO and Chairman as the same time. Would not surprise me if there was more to this than just 'increasing pressure at work'. BT talked about a bit of a struggle between the folk that had played the game and those that had not.

Stepping down is a good thing. The debarcle that was our last WC campaign. It appears that once you're on the gravey train, yuo're set. I suppose there will be a job somewhere within FIFA for him as it is a bit of an old boys network. In 2010 when Ricki said that the mistakes of the 1982 aftermath and money, would not be made again, sadly, they were. Van hattum has to accept some responsibility for that.

The good thing about NZ football has been the the mergence from the old National League to the new version of it and I congratulate them for that. But there are areas where it has been sadly wrong. EG: Wishing to charge U20's 2k+ to go to their finals, the lack of Internationals, the lack of Internationals leading up to the WC playoff. Players showing up at Auckland international airport not knowing wehom they were travelling with.

Time for a change but I hope the entire executive change direction for the better. Be a bit more professional in their attitude.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
