Hey everyone, rivalries aside im sure i speak for 99.9% of Aussies when i say best of luck against Bahrain, we would love to see you guys there! Great that you guys get the second leg so if you do make it you can feel the euphoria we did in that special night in 2005.

P.S: As a Mariners fan how did WeeMac do against Jordan (McGlinchey)

likewise- when Aussie played in the 06 WC I found it hard not to support them-would never do that in any other sport.

its a football camaraderie born of living at the last outpost of the global game perhaps

or perhaps the anzac spirit, either way hope you make it - Bahrain are nothing special but Jaycee John is one to watch, im sure you guys will be on the phone to Pim Verbeek for some inside information :)

edit: another bonus would be having more a-league players in the world cup :D

Mcglinchey did ok, pretty quiet. he was victim of the sending off and NZ going down to 10 men - got subbed at half time for an extra defender

Is that what the said in 1982 though? Anyone who livevd through that ancent time care to share how long the buzz lasted? Money and marketing is probably required to extend it. It could make Shane Smeltz and Glen Moss etc household names and NZ sport legends hope

I was lucky to get up to Singapore for that ultimate game in January '82 ,it would be even a greater buzz to see The All Whites get to another World Cup but this time on home soil.FIFA declared Singapore was a "nuetral" venue ,I couldn't wave my scarf as it was seen as a political Banner,but when the Chinese scored all of a sudden all these Chinese flags appeared and the local police did nothing!!!!

After the game I couldn't sleep , well actuall y I was drinking a fair bit with the team,struggling back to my hotel when the sun was rising!!

I WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN,COME ON THE ALL WHITES
