Hi,
I am living over in Australia now, but was successful in the FIFA ballot and if NZ qualify, I'll have tickets to watch the mighty Whites in South Africa.
Only problem is, how the hell can I watch the Bahrain away leg over here in Australia?????
Doesn't look like any of the networks are showing it here, does anyone have any cunning way I can pick the game up live?

What city? I'm in Sydney next week. If not on TV I'll be streaming it live on "justin.tv"  and watching with dad, welcome to jon.

Will fox sports be the only option? I understand daylight savings is this weekend, restoring the 2 hour difference so kick off will be 230am Sunday Morning Aussie time, well sydney atleast.

Hey hellobeaver,
I've rung foxsports and they aren't showing anything other than the Aussie v Netherlands game. Other option was SBS which is free to air, but they have nothing on their website for the NZ game, only South American qualifiers.
Will just use iraqgoals.com, that seems perfect.

Thanks for all the help fellas, no way in hell was I letting myself miss this one!

Yeah streaming is only option.
Called SBS and they're not showing it, don't have the rights to WC qualifiers.
Pray for a good stream!

Theres nothing in the fox sports guide. Wouldn't hold out hope for that unfortunately. Will be sitting in front of my comp to watch us win 3-0!

I would be worried if you are looking for an english stream considering the time of day the game is and the fact it seems like the aussie streamers on iraqgoals won't be able to stream this mind you some kiwi may stream it

Is there a radio commentary I wonder? I guess it's unlikely that Radio NZ would send over a crew in this day and age. (I still have very fond memories of listening to Alan Richards' radio call of the AWs v China in '82).

I would gladly swap 4/5 of watching A League this season just to see these two matches. My pathetic, stuttering internet connection can't even handle iraqgoals. Life is cruel.

Turns out that game on fox is italy vs ireland i think it was. I looked on the internet guide, usually more up to date than the printed guide printed over a month ago

Have looked on Fox and there is a live game at that time but it is a Coca Cola live game. Tranmere v Stockport

Yes, that looks like our only chance the mystery WC qualifier at 2.30am QST. Fair play to Foxsports in the past they have shown most of the Asian qualifiers not involving AUstralia so hopefully they will come through... but .... if they don`t which is the best streaming site and what`s the quality like?

UBI World TV, might show it in australia. To Be Confirmed. Source: All WHites group on facebook.

Anyone know how common this is? That qualifier listed is Italy vs Ireland.

I will be in the Manly area that night, any bars likely to show it?

This from Setanta site:

Following a last minute deal for the television rights, the 1st leg of this do-or-die World Cup play off will be broadcast live by Setanta Sports on Sunday, October 11, from 2:30am EDT."

Excellent news for all Oz based NZers. All we need now is for Setanta to bring on a new series of Special One TV!
